Interesting review at Dread Central for Rob Zombie's latest film. I've been looking very forward to this.
Those expecting Suspiria on crack will be deeply disenchanted for Zombie’s narrative-lacking indie on witches is not the gory, fast-paced horror flick fans of his previous efforts will be expecting. In fact, it is the polar opposite and is a movie that needs to be slowly digested rather than being quickly dismissed as schlocky art-house fare.

Swamp Foetus On Dread Central
As someone who checks out dreadcentral.com about ten times each day (for years), I figured I'd shoot them a link of our short film. Just figuring someone there would pass it around among the staff whom I've grown to respect and enjoy through reading their features. I never expected to get a featured spot on their site.
This is beyond cool.

Hemocyte
He lay there on the bed and took deep breaths of the darkness, hoping for sleep. But the silence didn’t really help. He could still see them out there, the white-faced men prowling around his house, looking ceaselessly for a way to get in at him. Some of them, probably, crouching on their haunches like dogs, eyes glittering at the house, teeth slowly grating together, back and forth, back and forth.
And the women ...
Did he have to start thinking about them again? He tossed over on his stomach with a curse and pressed his face into the hot pillow. He lay there, breathing heavily, body writhing slightly on the sheet. Let the morning come. His mind spoke the words it spoke every night, Dear God, let the morning come.

From The House Of Mouse
Guillermo del Toro surprised the 6,500 fans gathered today at Comic-Con with the announcement that he is currently developing a new film for The Walt Disney Studios based on the classic Disney theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion.
“Dark imagery is an integral part of the Walt Disney legacy. After all, Disney himself was the father of some really chilling moments and characters - think Chernabog from Fantasia or Maleficent as the Dragon or the Evil Queen in Snow White,” said del Toro. “I couldn't be more excited to be a part of my own adaptation of the original theme park attraction Walt envisioned and that remains- for me- the most desirable piece of real estate in the whole world!"
“Millions of people from around the world visit The Haunted Mansion each year, but no one has ever had a tour guide like Guillermo del Toro,” said Rich Ross, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. “Guillermo is one of the most gifted and innovative filmmakers working today and he is going to take audiences on a visually-thrilling journey like they’ve never experienced before.”

He Cast No Reflection In My Mirror
Lame casting news for the Fright Night remake - Colin Farrell as the vampire Jerry Dandrige.
Lord knows who will get to play Peter Vincent.
Though I'm having a hard time caring at this point.

Uncle Creepy's Pictorial Diary Of The Dead
I read this great entry by Dread Central's Uncle Creepy about his being cast as a zombie in the latest film by George A. Romero. Sounds like a pretty amazing experience.
I loved his excitement. So glad he documented his time spent working with Romero.
"Yeah, Steve, it's George. I've got this new thing happening, and I know that there's no possible way that I could cast you as part of the living, so how would you like to come up and be a zombie for me?"

Burton's Addams Family
Looks like Tim Burton will be directing a 3D stop-motion film based on the original comic characters of The Addams Family.
