Proof

M. Night Shyamalan is about to bring a twist to Syfy's original programming as he's ready to venture forth into the world of the small screen with a series pilot that examines death and what may or may not be next!

According to The Hollywood Reporter the cable network has given a put-pilot commitment to a project from Shyamalan and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Marti Noxon titled "Proof", marking his first foray into scripted television.

"Proof" centers on the son of a billionaire tech genius who, following an accident that claims his parents' lives, offers a large reward for anyone who can find proof of life after death.

I'm in.
I love M. Night's work. He's been unfairly held to a different standard than the rest of Hollywood, for whatever reason.

Everyone's entitled to make a stinker or two.

This guy has given me more memories than most film makers in Hollywood:
The alien footage in SIGNS.
Mr Glass in UNBREAKABLE.
"And whatever you do, try not to scream" in THE VILLAGE.
And of course the ending of THE SIXTH SENSE.

One of the biggest scares for me ever...

"And don't go in the pantry, Father. I locked one in there."

I actually started to get up to leave the theater, I was so freaked.

I like all his movies. Lady in the Water is my least fav...but the man has his own voice and I really, really respect that.

Loved "The Village" and "The Sixth Sense".
"The Happening" was a good concept, but he could of picked better lead actor/actress.(HORRIBLE)

I think it has a lot to do with the success of The Sixth Sense, which was kind of his Hollywood debut, coupled with the unfortunate popular expectation that every movie would feature a mind-bending twist to match Malcolm being a ghost.

It doesn't help that a few of his other movies do introduce game-changers toward the end. Because they're never as "extreme" as the ending of The Sixth Sense, folks complain that "the twist was stupid." Sigh. Sometimes less is more, which is something that I think he does very well, and is rarer in the genre these days.

Last night I said to my wife..we need to make the SIGNS dinner one of these days.

Spaghetti & Meatballs
French Toast w Mashed Potato's
Chicken Teriyaki
Cheeseburger w EXTRA bacon

SIGNS is in my top 10 all time...I actually was planning a trip up to Newton where the filmed the pizza shop scene.

I LOVE The Village.
This sounds awesome.

Sort of irrelevent, but have you seen The Innkeepers yet, and what did you think?

yep. We really dug The Innkeepers. Loved the score too.

You like it?

I bought The House Of The Devil two weeks ago and I still have no words to express how much I love it. Ti West is a pure genius.

The Innkeepers isn't out on DVD over here yet, but I'll definitely buy it when it is. It'll slot perfectly into place right next to House of The Devil in my alphabetically-ordered DVD collection. :D

And I'll totally be picking up a copy of The Roost sometime this year. Can't wait to see what he makes next.
