Night After Night

Critically acclaimed film director, producer, and screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan will host an evening to celebrate one of the most successful collaborations between a contemporary film director and a composer—Shyamalan and the Emmy® and GRAMMY®–winner, James Newton Howard. This performance highlights Howard’s haunting scores that became part of the identity of eight of Shyamalan’s eerie, mind-bending thrillers—The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village, The Last Airbender, and more. Howard will lead Your Philadelphia Orchestra with special appearances by pianist Jean Yves Thibaudet, violinist Gil Shaham, and cellist Maya Beiser in this incredible one-night-only event!

Excluding The Possibility That A Female Scandinavian Olympian Was Running Around Outside Our House Last Night, What Else Might Be A Possibility?

Morgan, this crop stuff is just about a bunch of nerds who never had a girlfriend their whole lives. They're like thirty now. They make up secret codes and analyze Greek mythology and make secret societies where other guys who never had girlfriends can join in. They do stupid crap like this to feel special.

Birthday Party

That birthday scene in SIGNS.  I never really pondered the fact that some kid must have seen something moving through the bushes in the yard for all of them to have abandoned the cake and food like that.

I'll truly never forget the moment I saw this scene in the theater.  Every single man, woman, and teen in there screamed.

As a horrible side note:  I used to sit near a funny Puerto Rican woman and one time I called her over to show her this scene on youtube.  I always wanted to know what those kids were yelling.  Well, I ask "What are they saying, Maria? You can understand, right?! TELL ME!"  She yelled, "It's Portuguese, you DUMBASS!"  Also important to note, I once told her I had a pet Chupacabra.  She wasn't amused and felt I cracked the joke to her due to her race (I think I did), which led to the office nickname from her of "Chupa"...for over a decade.  I deserved it.

She said it every time as though she was calling me dumbass.

I reached out to her recently to see how she was doing and it was "Hey, Chuuuuuupa!"

Noah

I can't express how much joy and satisfaction I feel when I see Noah suffering in that hole at the end of The Village.  Twitching and trying to moan, his mouth full of blood and confusion.  How he wasn't prime suspect number one when the first skinned animal showed up I will never know.

Now Playing: Glass

Just got home from seeing this film.  I think it's M. Night's masterpiece.  Not at all what I was expecting from the trailer.  Something very different.

Split

Rented M. Night's latest film SPLIT over the weekend and went nuts over it.  My personal favorite film of his is UNBREAKABLE, and this now matches it.  If you haven't seen the film yet, PLEASE stay away from any talk of it...and any talk of the recent news on the sequel being planned.  It might ruin some of the cool stuff in this film.  So try to see it ASAP.

Proof

M. Night Shyamalan is about to bring a twist to Syfy's original programming as he's ready to venture forth into the world of the small screen with a series pilot that examines death and what may or may not be next!

According to The Hollywood Reporter the cable network has given a put-pilot commitment to a project from Shyamalan and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Marti Noxon titled "Proof", marking his first foray into scripted television.

"Proof" centers on the son of a billionaire tech genius who, following an accident that claims his parents' lives, offers a large reward for anyone who can find proof of life after death.

I'm in.
I love M. Night's work. He's been unfairly held to a different standard than the rest of Hollywood, for whatever reason.
