From the Pure Imajennation blog...
This is really neat. Rubbing the lid of a pumpkin with spices so the heat of the candle creates a toasty sweet aroma. Definitely going to try this out.

Awesome idea!!!
Genius!
It totally works too. I did this last year with clove buds jammed into the pumpkin flesh on the lid and rubbed on some cinnamon. Some of the clove buds were maybe too close to the heat because they smoked a little, but it sure smelled good.
I'm gonna steal MorbidMariah's idea. Sounds like a great combo.
Nice...yeah..totally going to try the clove bud trick...we do that with oranges for Christmas...
I've used cinnamon but never thought about cloves. Thanks for the tip.
now How Perfect is this!?!?
it's like Aladdin's lamp, BUT for Halloweeeeeen.
WC's right, it really is Genius!.
maybe, we can raise the Great Pumpkin.. : D
& Cloves are Divine...sighhhhh
Been putting cinnamon and nutmeg on my lids for a couple decades.
I did this one year for a pumpkin by the front door. Got a lot of good comments from the trick-or-treaters
