Company endorsement...

For anyone who digs on the incense, The Plant Guru is a great company with reasonable prices, free and fast shipping, and fantastic products.  I had clove and pumpkin spice incense sticks burning on Halloween night during trick-or-treating hours and it really loaded on the atmosphere.

Naturally I overbought, so now I burn ten at a time on the porch with the windows open.  Someone's going to call the fire department (one neighbor confessed she thought I smoked weed and I was burning incense so much to hide the scent).  This uptight guy was offended.

We've been burning those wonderful Anise & Clove tea lights that I was pushing a while back... from the Soy-n-Suds Etsy shop.  That scent mingled with the toasted pumpkin smell of a warm jack o'lantern lid is insanely awesome.

Yankee Candle Halloween 2014

Halloween Candles

So I ordered some Anise wax cubes and Clove wax cubes from a shop on Etsy.com, melted them down with an orange dye cube, and poured them into three small candle tins.
The scent is very earthy and smoky, not quite anise and not quite clove.  We haven't lit them yet, but I have high hopes they'll throw a nice strong scent.

Notice the way the wax caved in around the wicks.  A candle-maker I'm not.  But the house smells really nice.

Black Phoenix Alchemy

Whenever I go to this site, I feel three things:
1.  I wish computer monitors came with a small scent-port so I could sample these things.
2.  I think this site is the online equivalent of going to a haunted mansion.
3.  I feel like if I order something I'm somehow an unknowing member of an online cult.

Something's just OFF about it.  And that's not a bad thing.  Just a vibe I get.  I trust my vibes.

Hallow's Eve

Imagine seeing this in a store.  There was a moment where I didn't want to open it.  Like when you don't want to check your lottery ticket because you know it'll spoil the feeling that you JUST MIGHT be a millionaire. 

Well, I opened the lid and smelled it....  and it was a strong cologne scent.  Like something your uncle would wear.  That uncle who creeps you out.  The one nobody wants to sit next to on Christmas.

Was surprised to see the "Happy Halloween" (licorice) scent still being sold.  Probably left over from last year.  The "Sleepy Hollow" scent was pretty cool...woodsy and incensy.
