Haunted Graveyard - A Halloween Cocktail

Bourbon
Maple syrup
Fresh orange
Bitters
Rosemary stems

Not a very spooky recipe, but it sure looks neat.  I think I would switch out the maple syrup for some Amaro Montenegro (40 botanicals including vanilla, orange peels and eucalyptus).

Now Playing: Ardmore

By Dylan Henner.

We took a short post-Halloween vacation across the state and into West Virginia.  Stayed in a sweet cabin in the woods that had a small stream flowing behind it.  Next to the stream was a fire pit.  Next to the fire pit were some fine drinks.

While driving around the beautiful mountain roads, the below song came on.  Ardmore was the perfect soundtrack for the landscape out there, which had already lost most of its leaves.

Iron Smoke Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Picked this up a short while back and it's definitely become the house favorite.  Super smooth with a really nice smokey finish.  Like mega smooth.

Halloween Party Food: Salami With Bourbon & Sour Cherry

As an homage to the classic Manhattan cocktail, Brooklyn Cured created this pork and bourbon salami and infused it with sour cherries for a touch of sweetness and complexity. The sweet and smoky flavors of bourbon and cherry serve as the absolute perfect complement to pork.

Blanton's Bourbon And Some Dark Tales

Some night reading and some Blanton's.   It's some fine stuff.  Hard to come by in these parts.  Always sells out fast, and you basically have to know someone.  Fortunately, I know someone.

The book is pretty great too.

Dranks Of The Season

Going through old photos, and this one was a nice memory.

Just got done carving the pumpkins for this year's display and poured a nice drank:  some Noble Oak bourbon, as one of the new jackos watched on (probably thankful I drank AFTER carving its face).

A fine drank.

But then I noticed two ghostly figures in the reflection in the glass:
The one on the left looks like a ghostly monk.  The one on the right looks like a ghostly Sleestak.

Kirk Bourbon

“...an artisan bourbon that celebrates Captain Kirk’s bold spirit of adventure.”

The new Kirk Bourbon is a small batch release selected from choice barrels aged between 4-12 years. According to Silver Screen Bottling, the Star Trek whiskey “exhibits a depth and richness seen in only the finest examples of bourbon with notes of caramel, Asian 5 spice and pecan” which is “crafted with the highest respect for the whiskey and for the man that bears its name.”

I'd still feel dumb ordering it or asking for it in a bar (assuming I saw the bottle sitting on a shelf [God, imagine if you ordered it and it wasn't there.]).

Though I'd buy Romulan Ale if they made it. Regardless of what it tasted like.

Some info here.
