2015 Photos
Going to slowly put all of the images from pumpkinrot.com onto my blog. The biggest complaint I get when people tell me they've visited my site's galleries is that they wish they could scroll through the images instead of clicking and closing each one. And I get it.
I have no plans to mothball pumpkinrot.com though. It'll be around as long as I am.

The Unheard
I'm extremely excited to present a collaboration between myself and Jason Innes and James Akers of High Noon Records. Their musical project Lunar Veil has provided an original score for the official 2015 Pumpkinrot Haunt Video. The expression 'a dream come true' is a galactic understatement. I am so SO grateful for their work, and so completely blown away by their talent.
Their track The Unheard is the perfect voice for my Haunt. It captures both the human cruelty of my fictitious psychopathic Yard Haunter and the lonely despair of his victims.
So please click the image below and enjoy our video. I've provided links so you can purchase the stand-alone track (I need these guys to be writing music for as long as I'm on the planet).
It's an exceptional piece of music on its own and one that gets better with every listen.

The Halloween 2015 Photo Gallery
Tons of photos in the gallery this year.
Going to try to figure out a way to have them open up in a lightbox so you don't have to click and open each one... but for now, it's the best I can do.

Haunt Video
So apparently a short video was found after a deranged yard haunter was taken into custody.
I wanted to thank Simon from Villa 9 studios. Without his help this video would not have existed so quickly. In addition to being a talented composer, he's been an amazing technical expert as well, and an all-around great guy.
You can listen to his amazing work here:

Friday...
Getting close to finishing my 2015 Haunt video.
So look for it here on Friday morning.
I'm so used to working with grainy little video clips from my ancient digital cameras, so it's been really interesting having loads of high definition video to play with.
Working on the photos now for my site's 2015 gallery. Hoping to have that done this weekend.

Johnny Appleseed's Return
He got a slight makeover after hanging in the garage since 2004...
Added more detail to his face and chest. Felt good to bring him out this year.
I imagined the man who built the human scarecrows in my Haunt this year had a great-granddaddy who handed down his dark ways. And he took credit for building a scarecrow on his property. A scarecrow which my guy inherited and proudly displays each year. Now no one has confirmed that Appleseed was really built by this man's great-grandfather, and some folks claimed it was around way longer than that.

A Teaser Clip...
Here's something I shot as a goof on Halloween morning. It gives a taste of how the Haunt looked...

Spotty Blogging
Still catching up with everything after the big day, so I'll be spotty with blog entries for a few days. Looking VERY forward to featuring other folks' Haunts in the coming weeks.
And I'll be working on my site's galleries, and this year's Haunt video, which I'm super excited about since I have a ton of high quality day and night footage.

Happy Halloween
The photo shoot went extremely well. Lots of folks in the neighborhood were drawn to all those lights and all that corn and my fears that the Haunt would be too dark for this neighborhood have ended. People really seemed to dig it and they lingered to walk among the corpsecrows and study the pumpkin faces. Lots of fun.
Super exhausted and looking forward to today where I can just walk among it all and do fine-tuning. Forecast is saying it'll be a cool and cloudy Halloween and I'm insanely grateful for it.
Hope everyone has an amazing Halloween.
Wishing dry weather and creepy magic.
