Some of the harsher stuff I listen to, by Megaptera (one of the first Dark Ambient projects [though I think the genre is post-Industrial]).  

This is the kindof stuff you'd play in your house growing up and your mother would say "Well, it certainly is DIFFERENT."  And you'd yell back (with black eye-liner),:  "You don't even UNDERSTAND me!"
