A Season Of Shadows

Incredibly saddened to see haunter John Wolfe's final blog post over at SeasonOfShadows.com. It's really difficult to process this actually.

Astounding courage.. God bless him and his family. Saddens me, but still his bravery is inspirational.

Wow, sure makes you reevaluate the problems that you think are big and sets things in a different perspective.
I have followed john's blog for a while now and he will be greatly missed, but hopefully his last post can be an inspiration to us. The dignity, grace and strength John
shows should be an example for us to follow.

Totally agree.

He and I have emailed a lot over the last few years and he's one of the most positive and upbeat people I'v ever known.

He's been a wonderful part of the community in more ways than perhaps he knows. I'm so glad I had a chance to know a little about him.

He was one of the reasons I got into all of this Halloween stuff. God bless him.

I read his blog post yesterday and felt so empty the rest of the day. But like everyone here has said, his bravery and courage is so inspirational. His attention to detail when creating his props was amazing and fun to watch. I wish him peace and Godspeed.

Farewell, John. You were among the greatest of Haunters. May a Pumpkin Patch of Jack-o-Lanterns sing thee to thy rest.

So sad to read that. Earlier in the day on the 24th when he posted that, I recorded a video for my YouTube channel talking about John and his haunt, and wishing him the best in health. As I started to upload it today, I came here to see whats new... and found this post. really really sad right now.

Such sad and shocking news.

His prop-work, haunt and insight is amazing, and his ability to remain positive when deilvering such tragic news is even more so.

It made me sad to read that this morning... I feel bad that I didn't know things had gotten so bad. He's been an inspiration since I started haunting, and I'm sure that many things in the haunt community will bring back memories of his work for years to come. Especially those red lights.

Sadden yes, but also uplifted by his parting encouragement for people to ensure everyone has clean water even as he anticipates the next phase of his journey.
Let us recall him and his Haunting often & fondly as we all travel our own journeys.
God Bless John & those who care for him.

But what tremendous spirit!

Deeply respect him and his choice. I have Gastroparesis too and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Hello everyone. I'm the moderator at SeasonofShadows and the best friend to John. I was/am overwhelmed by all of the support, kind thoughts and words shared about our John. I try hard to make life as life as I've known it but it's been impossible for months now knowing John will be leaving us all. The pain, the agony of this reality is beyond anything I have ever known in life. I'm known as Goldie on SoS and John would want everyone to know just how much you all mean to him. He adores his Halloween family greatly and misses us all incredibly. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, well wishes. Sadly when John does pass away this year sometime, Autumnforest is most sweet in that she will be posting a dedication on the day of his passing so everyone knows. My life is not life without John but he's been the most incredible teacher, friend and partner for me in the few short years we've known each other. BIG thanks to Pumpkinrot for posting this so we can all share in our feelings now. The chat is still up on SoS but it's always had issues with deleting messages so it's been so wonderful seeing what everyone has posted over here. Thank you so much and please know John deeply appreciates all of you. God Speed John and thank you for the incredible blessing of YOU!

Hey, thanks so SO much for leaving that message.

Rot, it is beyond my pleasure to do so. We've both wanted everyone to know how serious his health is last year sometime but we didn't want to put any bad vibes out there until we knew for sure. Energy returned to my body when I saw your posting just now so again I thank you deeply for doing so. Also, let me know your thoughts on this but I thought about printing out this page, and or emails to John, and give them to John so he could read them. He can read from pages easily but being by the pc does him wrong. If you don't mind I would like to print out the comments here to share with him while he's still here with us in flesh form. Lastly, if any of you...our Halloween Family, want to send him an email you can send it to my email address and I'll print them out to make sure he gets them and reads them when he has time. If I had my own website, it would have been littered with John updates but I don't. Anyways, if you think it's a good idea Rot here's my email address for everyone. Goldedstar@sbcglobal.net

Thank you again for your posting and thank you to everyone who adores John and thinks the world of him, his work and his teachings. There will never ever be another human on this planet like our John. Sorry for the second posting. Please contact me anytime as I consider you all a part of my Halloween family as well.

John is an amazing person and he will always be an important influence on anyone who knew him. It is a very big loss to the haunters community and to the world.

I can't even imagine what he is going thru. Since I read his last post I have been thinking about it everyday. He shows incredible class in the way he is handling this horrible situation..If that were me I would be cursing and damning everyone! Reading his post made me feel a bit different.

I just wanted to let everyone know that John posted a few comments in the chatbox on SeasonofShadows's home page. The chat box erases comments on it's own often so please get over there and read them as soon as you can. He's deeply touched and moved by all of the love and support everyone has shown him. Thank you also to everyone for their extraordinary letters to John. He's going to be moved to tears when he reads them all but it sounds like he's in a really peaceful and relaxing state now. He's indeed wrapping up his affairs here and preparing for his afterlife, which he's rather excited about. SeasonofShadows chat box....please go check it out. Thank you Rot for posting my comments and allowing me to use it as a message board. Have a great weekend :-)

We were there supporting him when he live-streamed working on his props, we are still with him now. Goodbye John, enjoy the stream on the other side.

Stunned and deeply saddened to hear of this. Such an inspiring artist and a far more impressive human being. I can't fathom the strength it must have taken to deal with this type of issue for so long. Inspiring to the end. Much respect.
