And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshippers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.

Spoiler Alert: The Black Hole - The Ending
The final nightmarish scenes from The Black Hole are below. Imagine seeing this as a young child at a friend's house, on a VCR. His family is sitting in the living room, excited that a Disney film has just been brought home from Four Star Video at the local strip mall. Surely, it'll be just like Star Wars.

Night Of A Thousand Corpses
Man, there's so much here. A Hell Hole with a sign saying as much (Hell's always open; even on Christmas). A guillotine where the executioner paints 'Happy Halloween' with the latest victim's blood (assumption: I'd hate to have my head chopped off with a blade that still had some other person's blood on it). Floating eyeballs.

Darkrose Manor: Inferno
... he had three faces: one in front bloodred;
and then another two that, just above
the midpoint of each shoulder, joined the first;
and at the crown, all three were reattached;
the right looked somewhat yellow, somewhat white;
the left in its appearance was like those
who come from where the Nile, descending, flows.

True Horror
I imagine these were invented for small children's parties. I bet children would go insane at the sight of something that has two of their favorite foods sewn together like an unethical Russian experiment.
I wish I had a July 4th party to go to (no I don't) so I could bring a few of these and pretend I think it's the most brilliant invention ever.

Monster Pops
I must confess a great fondness for the cake pop.
Wish these things were around when I was a kid. We had to endure party foods like dry cupcakes sprinkled with powdered sugar. As if any kid really wants to eat the cupcake and not the frosting.
I hope there's a deep place in Hell for mothers who pulled that stunt.

Singing Is Praying Twice
This wreath lives under my desk during the year and I make sure he is released every Christmas season. He's hated by all, and has been singing his song for the last few decades I've been told. It's a hard torch to carry, but it isn't officially Christmas until this dude sings.
Just imagine Santa's soul trapped in a ring of pine. Hell is repetition.

Spirit Board
This isn’t really anything scary. It’s just something that kind of shocked me when it happened. A few months ago, I decided to ask my friends if anyone wanted to do a Ouija board session with me. They were hesitant at first, and some of them outright refused, but a few of them agreed. The first few sessions we did were pretty tame. We got answers, but nothing really got weird. One night, we’re sitting in my dorm room on our college campus playing with the Ouija board. People say that Ouija boards are really just your subconcious giving you answers or that someone in the group is just moving the planchette. I decided to test this, so I asked a question in my head. I didn’t vocalize the question at all or give any indication of what I was asking. After I asked the question in my mind, the planchette moved and spelled out, “time stops.” I immediately took my hand off the planchette and kind of just sat there, a bit shocked because that hadn’t been the answer I was expecting to my question. I was expecting something like “hot” or “cold”. My friends stared at me in confusion and wanted to know what my question was. I had asked, “What’s it like in hell?”

Satan

Someone at work was asking me about my blog and my site. They seemed really fascinated that there are people that take Halloween so seriously. I mentioned that my blog gets a ton of hits during the season and that I get a lot of emails from all over the country (which currently I'm having a very hard time keeping up with [very sorry]). So she asks "Are they mostly devil worshippers?" Kinda stunned. Kinda surprised. But she's serious, so I figured I should address the issue in a calm and orderly manner. I told her that the whole Satanic side of Halloween is really just a big myth. That Haunters, in fact, actually stay away from Satanic imagery for the most part. I recall reading once on a forum a discussion about incorporating Hell and the Devil into a display and the general consensus was that it was bad news and not something that'd be popular in a neighborhood haunt. Some people even said that they personally would have a problem featuring Satan in their display. So it seems that it's just the opposite from the perceived notions of evil and Satanic symbols being one and the same with celebrating Halloween. Being pretty far from the Bible Belt, I'm still really surprised that the question was even asked, though I'm glad she asked it, because she seemed to accept my answer (or she just figured I was covering for my Dark Lord and Master).
For the record: I think images of Hell and the Devil are something that should be fair game for a Halloween display. Torches and red flood lights and horned beings - it'd be fantastic. And definitely something I could see doing at some point in the future.
Hell on Earth.
