Hum, I don't know. It looks like it could be a great thriller/suspense movie, but the idea of seeing zombies moving fast just annoys me. Maybe I am just being too old fashion when it comes to zombies....
I think zombie movies are losing their appeal to me. I'm a fan of the more old-school horror approach - hands rising from graveyards and zombies shambling through foggy swamps. I'd much rather see a few zombies hunting down helpless characters in an old mansion than The U.S. Army gunning downs thousands of them from a helicopter.Although those waves of zombies looked pretty damn cool...What sort of zombie movies do you prefer, Rot?
I'm mixed. I'm mostly old school. I don't think it gets much better than Night of the Living Dead...followed by Day of the Dead. I love the concept. And I REALLY dig the remake of Dawn of the Dead (and worship the original).BUT I've always been curious about seeing what it'd be like if millions of people turned. And this seems like it might be the first time we get a semi-realistic look at zombie volume.I'm kinda ok with the fast pace here because I'm thinking these people just turned. I tried to think what it'd be like if three thousand people were in a narrow street and looked back and saw a massive wave coming. You'd have three thousand people running as fast as they could...piling up and flowing over anything in their way.But if I had to choose. I like my zombies slow. And I like the scope of Night of the Living Dead.
Me and the Mr. will probably go see it for a fun popcorn movie. He read the book, and it looks like I have enough time to get that done. The other movie I'm looking forward to the the adaption of Guillermo Del Toro's The Strain. That is about creepy nasty vampires. It also features that Manhattan Morgue in the beginning and since I've been there it should have some great scares.
Cool. Hadn't heard about that one.Neat that you've been there.
I read the book on the trip there. It begins with a plane full of dead people on the tarmac of LaGuardia Airport. I read that part during takeoff from Boise.
