First World Crisis

I haven't had a pop tart in a very long time, so when I walked up the cereal aisle at the local grocery store and spotted a box boasting NOW WITH MORE FROSTING I was pretty excited.  I've often wondered who were the people who purchased the ugly dry pop tarts with zero frosting.  Just seems like if you're going to eat something so sweet and odd that you might as well jump in head first.  I've never been one to believe that too much of a good thing isn't good, so I bought a box of strawberry pop tarts NOW WITH MORE FROSTING and couldn't wait to get to the car to eat them (though now I'm kicking myself for not checking to see if they had the brown sugar ones NOW WITH MORE FROSTING [my personal favorite pop tarts]).  I tore open the weird foil and saw something very similar to the below photo.  Mine actually had LESS frosting.  And I'm a little jealous of the ones below as their frosting actually sorta made it to both sides.  Mine had about a half inch of ugly dry pop tart on the left and right long sides of the tart.

As the person who posted the below photo stated:  Life is full of lies.

The only positive of this story is that when I tossed the box out of the window as I drove, they hit a homeless man in the face.

(that sounded funnier in my head.)

No. No, that last line was hysterical! Some of my best friends are homeless.

I bet they prefer more frosting.

And I’ve totally wondered who eats pop tarts without toasting them. Now I know. Also, I’m totally the person who buys the dry ones.

I have only toasted them out of curiosity....and with the desire to have burned lips.

You and I could NEVER be friends! Oil and water!

Lol.

I bet you bought them at Walmart!!!!

Haha. Reading the conversation between you too made me laugh!

If you do what I do, I have a container of frosting (Pillsbury) on had. I am a frosting freak. Not a fan of the chocolate frosting though. The more frosting on a cake the better.
Pop tarts taste REALLY good with butter and peanut butter on them. In my opinion of course.........

FROSTING. Best stuff on earth.

Pop tarts have been dead to me since they discontinued the Chocolate Vanilla Creme flavor.

I haven't had Pop Tarts in years, but when I do, I am a frosted blueberry Pop Tart fan and get this....I do toast them...and when they are hot out of the toaster, I put butter on top of the frosting and let it melt down the pastry. My husband is one of those weirdos that eats the unfrosted strawberry Pop Tarts. Yuck! It's like a dry paper bag with filling.

Jay, I’ve never considered frosting on a pop tart. I, too, am all about the frosting. My favorite was the S’more flavor. Or the chocolate chocolate flavor. Dunno if they even have those anymore.

And just to clarify I like REAL frosting. Not Pop Tart icing.

Sara, you GOT to try pop tarts with putting more frosting on.

Good Stuff.

I still have a box of pumpkin Pop Tarts from 2016. Should I toss them?

This is a HILARIOUS story! Maybe Pop Tarts have changed since I was a kid, but that "More Frosting!" tart looks like it actually has LESS frosting than I recall normal PTs having. Weird!
In fact, I remember eating frosted brown sugar and cinnamon ones (my favorite flavor too) that were completely covered (on one side) in that delicious taupe frosting...all the way to the far edges, actually wrapping around the corners, with no unfrosted dry tart to be found!
Life IS full of lies.

Hilarious! I was a cinnamon brown sugar Toast'em kid. I would have two every morning before school.

I eat the dry ones. That hot frosting makes me gag. Only the strawberry, though.
