I hate to admit it, but I love Pottery Barn. I wish it wasn't so expensive I actually got a jack-o-lantern jar like those you pictured from World Market for like $10.

i feel the same way.
Always neat finds at Pottery Barn...just so horridly expensive.

I loved a skeleton drink dispenser that they had in past years. I kept waiting for it to go on sale, but I missed it when it did. :(

we stopped in ROSS last weekend. & i couldn't believe all the beautiful Halloween itens they had out for sale. & the prices were dirt cheap..SO catzy. really blew me away. even the dishtowels were awesome & sucha variety to choose from. i've been slowly lovin on mercury glass over the past few years & treated myself to the loveliest mercury glass skull while i was there. ohhh & they had some of those 17oz size yankee candle Fall scents for $9.99.

Girl6, I wouldn't have pegged Ross for Halloween goodies so I haven't been there in a few years. Now I have to go! I'm a seasonal dish towel junkie.

Autumnleaf..you really gotta go. i love dishtowels too & it can be tough finding cool seasonal ones. i don't really care for the screen printed ones too much. the ink usually seems to be overdone (too thick) causing the designs not to lay right or hold up well with use/washings. ROSS has some real beauties this year..really nice retro designs that were embroidered. hope you find something awesome when you go!!

I'm calling bullshit! I love it anytime a company puts out a Halloween line but after getting Pottery Barn's catalog in the mail the other day, it really pissed me off. A wreath that you could make yourself (and arguably better) costs $150. There were lanterns that ranged from $50 up to $180, and garland for $130. But what really slammed my goat was the dining stuff. Everything is obviously geared toward consumers who want to pay top dollar to have the name brand, but I submit this comparison (spoiler - the same drink dispenser costs $12 at Michael's, and $60 at Pottery Barn):

I get Halloween is big business, but this is ridiculous.

That IS totally the SAME skull drink dispenser!!!! disgusting. a few yrs back i purchased a wooden file box with a metal stand & an apothecary cabinet from Pottery Barn online & both items were kinda on the crappy side. they still looked sorta cool (in person) but the materials were chintzy & i had to purchase replacement hinges from the hardwood store for the file box. honestly..it is just WAY better to buy real vintage items (especially furniture) from flea markets..thrift stores..antique shops..wherever..than from online shops like Pottery Barn. i don't mess with them any longer. it's just not worth it on so many different levels.

you just have to REALLY shop around with everything. i stopped in the local Dollar Tree the other day & they actually had an almost exact skeleton plaque that is selling at AC Moore for $18.00. mind you..i think you receive a 40% discount on the the item at AC Moore...but come on.

I completely agree. There are so many local businesses that have really great finds for zip. Sometimes it just takes some imagination!

There's just something about Pottery Barn. They have the coolest stuff at the highest price and all the richie-rich people buy it. LOL. I wish I could shop there a ton. I buy their crazy deep clearance after holidays. I love it.
Their Harry Pottery decor is INSANE. The COOLEST offerings.
