Wow. I am beyond impressed with your ability to reuse past props in such a way that makes them feel brand new. It is so cool seeing one of your Strawman scarecrows and your Ghost get their time in the limelight together. I really appreciate you showing us your Haunt for 2019.

Holy shit, what an awesome atmosphere. I can't figure it out, but it looks so good as the floodlights and their different colors play together. It seems so different. So in your face. Organic, overgrown and so perfectly adapted to the environment, as if it had always been there. Soooo good.So damn good. I'm so grateful that you're showing this to the world. I'll sit down in front of my laptop this evening and enjoy the large format photos with a good bourbon.

Thanks, S.A.!
That's too kind of you.
SO glad it appeals to you.
The weather that day was full-on rain during setup, and very warm, almost hot out. The rain stopped before trick-or-treating and gave way to a high wind and fast-moving clouds. The incense in the cauldrons was thick and blowing in the direction of the kids coming up for candy. It was pretty perfect from that point of view. I hung vines around the porch to make it feel closed-in. I turned off all the lights in the house and stood in the darkness waiting for kids to ring the bell.

Frickn awesome, I love your use of so many lit JOL's, they add a creepiness to it that I appreciate.

You really have a gift for describing it in such a way that I can literally smell and feel it. The crackling atmosphere in the magical night. So Vines were the beautiful organic element. Fascinating. I used cucumber vines from my garden in Medusa's Temple last year. The stuff was awesome. Elastic and intertwined like plants from the jungle. And again, your selection of the different colors of the lights and their interaction were incredibly good in 2019. I can only take my hat off to that. And the mind is a work of art anyway. This attitude, this presence... Bellissimo!

This was during your absence, I never knew if you had gotten anything out that yr. I like the simplicity of it all, as well as the inside shots looking out and the outside with the lit jack up in the window.

THANK YOU!

What an excellent off-season treat!

That's a wonderfully ominous environment and the ghost's pose is immaculate...it simply HAD to inspire double-takes and side-eyes all night long as folks tried to reassure themselves that it wasn't going to strike as soon as they turned their backs.

I envy the kids that got to make that walk, and am equally impressed that they actually did it.

Thanks, RM! I tried to imagine what it was like for kids walking through puffs of incense smoke and then seeing a ghost. At times it was literally a wall of smoke. The weather was totally on my side that night, despite fighting me all day.

So happy you are finally sharing these amazing shots. Said it before, and I'll say it again, one of your best years. Pumpkinrot distilled <3

Oooooh, I love that jack o'lantern in the second story window! I don't think I've seen that before. Makes me wish I had a two-story house. The rest of the shots of the haunt are pretty good too. ;)
