this makes me wish again that Halloween was appreciated the full month of October. I think people at least in this country pay lip service to Thanksgiving and Christmas but don't quite enjoy it as much as they claim (lingering religious guilt I think). And they enjoy the playful exploration of fears and shadows and acknowledgment of death as part of life that Halloween represents. PLUS dress-up/costumes -- NOT enough of that allowed all year, love it!
