Always a victim of cool packaging, I totally want this.
I'd blogged about this a bit ago and about my frustration that even though it's a product made by a Canadian in Canada, you can't find it on store shelves here. Aykroyd was actually on a local television show this morning promoting the item again, without a word on whether or not Canadians can actually get the product as initially promised. Kinda annoying to promote something in a city where people can't even get it.
That's totally lame.
I would love to have one too. Don't drink, don't know why I want it but I do.
Damn dude thats soooo cool and I want it! I want more than one! (it should be dark rum though) but still super lame you cant find it in Canada. Dans a Canadian too! what the duece
Actually in case you are interested I contacted the liquor board out of curiosity and it is produced in Newfoundland but will not be carried out here. At least not Ontario. They considered it but decided not to and its only available in a few states apparently. They did however tell me that I could request an order but only for a case. I will let you know when they quote me. lol
I got one of those for my brother for Christmas. He hadn't seen it before and LOVED it. Said he was going to fill it with Blavod when he finished the vodka in it. . .
Nev: Last I heard, it is available through private order for us Ontario dwellers via their (the makers) head office in Toronto. It costs $74.95 per bottle and you have to buy a minimum of 1 case for an order (6 to a case). Like Rot said, totally lame.Apparently Aykroyd's been making the rounds across North America this week, trying to draw more attention to the product. I guess I just have to make friends with someone in Newfoundland who can buy it for $50 and then ship it to me.
That is RAD.
Costly, but a one bottle seems worth trying. And its a very cool bottle to display. I'll have to find a way to get one. Anybody watch the full video on the website? Seems almost a little crazy lol I couldnt help but snicker at some points with Dan Aykroyd. They way he talks about it reminds me of a movie where aliens are trying to somehow get humans to drink their liquid so they can assimilate us and take over the world. I thought of that when he first told me that it was filled with quote 'pure joy'. hahah And filtered through diamonds? This stuff isnt made in Newfoundland, its gotta be aliens and Dan is their leader.
I watched the crazy videos and did a little research. It seems that when the website first hit the scene that the alcohol web community was convinced it was just an elaborate joke. Strange. On another note, happy to learn that GHOSTBUSTERS III is a go (for real).
!!!! ITS OFFICIAL?!
http://www.dreadcentral.com/ghostbusters-3Harold Ramis himself talking about it at DreadCentral
The Ghost Busters video game will be out in June. It was originally supposed to take the place as the 3rd movie, with all the original cast doing voice work and writing the script. It looks really good, and should hold people over until the release of the actual 3rd movie....if you like video games that is!
Two words: kick ass
Did someone say “Crystal Head Triple Herkimer diamond filtered Newfoundland deep aquifer pure spirit vodka?”
