Portsmouth, NH

Photo contests over the years, many of them featuring photographs of Haunted Overload props. Great photos here.
New Hampshire looks like a mighty great place to be in the Fall.

I can vouch for that. Portsmouth is one of my hangouts. It's a great place any time of year but especially in the Fall.

I've lived in NH for about 15 years of my life. The foliage is great here, especially if you go up north! The only problem for me is that I live in Manchester, NH and we have trick-or-treating during the day. I guess it's been like that for awhile because they feel it's "unsafe". TOT is just not the same during the day lol I remember when I was younger they used to have this big event downtown on Elm Street (Yes we have an Elm Street AND a Crystal Lake haha). The event would take place usually the week of Halloween and it was great because they'd block downtown off so people could go TOT'ing, go to haunted house (which at the time scared the crap out of me!), have costume contest, jack-o-lantern conest, etc. Basically, some of the best memories I have as a kid lol Eventually they stopped doing it though...I'm thinking about starting a Trick-Or-Treat At Night Campaign this year lol

Wow. I've heard of towns that did the daytime thing. Terrible.

Thankfully I grew up where it started after dinner was over and the sun went down.

The setting sun has so much to do with my early Halloween memories. Getting nervous seeing the sky grow darker, worrying that my mother was dragging her butt making dinner too slowly - the fear she was going to get us off to a late start (she never did). I was just a jumpy little kid.

I support your nighttime campaign. A daytime Halloween event would RUIN my haunt : )

Thank you Rot! I wish the mayor and other people in our city would understand that. Yes, it might be a little unsafe in places like downtown but that doesn't mean they should make it day time trick-or-treating for the whole city! Lol what makes it even worse is that I live right on the border of a town called Litchfield and they have their trick-or-treating at night. Hopefully I can help bring back one of the best things about Halloween to our city...it won't be easy though. Even though we have it during the day I have A LOT of kids/adults who tell me how great my yard is which puts a smile on my face but if they saw the yard at night it would be even better!
