And the Prince of Darkness was Himself sealed, that old life, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.
What another great Carpenter reference! Any movie with Alice Cooper in it can't be all bad...love the jars, hope to see lots more!
Agreed. Cooper was GREAT in that.
These are so fantastic! Dude, sometimes you make just want to quit.
Love the reference, PoD is one of my all time favorite Carpenter films. As for Cooper, it's a shame they didn't include the track he recorded for the film (barely audible through the headphones), not even on the collectors cd.
OK, I'm convinced. These jars are going to light the way through my display next year. This is a really subtle, creepy concept. My wife tried to get me to go with using the cutesy-type luminaries last year; I refused to introduce "cute" into the display. Now it looks like we'll both get our wish - super-creepy luminaries to mark the path. I'll probably make some for the tree, too. Thanks, Rot!
You're going to start another trend, my love.
This looks so completely awesome! The things you do with jars are amazing! How did you pit the skull/ pumpkins into the jars though? By the way, have you ever looked yourself up on deviantART? I just did, guess what i found!http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&global=1&q=pumpkinrot#/d1uak8u
Great fun to see this just a thought in the morning and then experimented with through the day.
Thanks, everybody.Though I doubt I'll be doing anything else with this. I only have one of those large jars. Michael's sells that size, over a foot high. This was just me screwing around. The pumpkin is a piece of thick cardboard with cuts in it. Very bendable - so I had to curl it up to get it through the top. The skull is a mache mold of a plastic skull...paper towels dipped in elmer's glue and water, and applied to a skull...then peeled off after it dries. So it's thin like a paper mask...very bendable. But I'm thinking anythign white could be cut and shaped to look like a face. Probably don't even need anything all that firm.
This is awesome. You have inspired me. Thanks!
This needs to go in HAUNT THEORY.
I use your ideas...but ALWAYS credit you! Even if some casual bypasser comments! I say "Go to Pumpkinrot.com to see the good stuff!"That way I don't feel like a rip off artist. Thanks for good ideas! Luff it!
