Finally Friday

Malt beverage brewed with pumpkin and cocoa.
I'm going to wait to try this one...I don't want to ruin what I'm picturing in my brain.

Currently chilling in the fridge.

Finally Friday!? You should have chilled and drank it the first night you got it. After all, any day is a good day for beer. Especially pumpkin beer!

Frick! I could have used one of those today. TGIF indeed. Why the hell did I think this was a good profession to get into anyway? Oh yeah, I never wanted a "normal" life. Thanks for reminding me there is light at the end of the tunnel.

going to try it tomorrow.

We tried a cider instead...ginger apple. Could barely taste the ginger, but it was good...Angry Orchard.

Did you guys end up tring it?

Yup.
The beer was more like a weaker dark beer...hint of cocoa, but absolutely no hint of anything sweet/clove-ish like pumpkin spice...

Every year I get so excited about the Pumpkin Beers and every year I can't seem to find one that doesn't taste "forced"...
This year I've tried:
Shipyard and Weibacher (spelling?)and both left me a little disappointed.

I've heard Dogfish makes a GREAT pumpkin ale, so I'll be trying that next.

In the world of beer, I love Guiness, Sam Adams winter and summer ales, Boddingtons...

Maybe my expectations are too high?

Thanks for the review Rot. Know what you mean about "forced". After many years, I still go with Buffalo Bills pumpkin ale. It does not just taste like a beer with a hint of pumpkin flavoring added. Also agree on the Angry Orchard- talk about autumn in a bottle!

Sam Adams made Oktoberfest beers again this year, with a sampling of like 4 or 5 different kinds. They have a Pumpkin Spice one. It was a bit too sweet/spicy for me. However, I did taste the Pumpkin Spice right away. Have you guys tried that one? I don't think they had it last year.

I dig Sam Adams' Oktoberfest...I don't recall trying the pumpkin one.

Going to hit up Wegmen's soon...they have a bunch of pumpkin ales...so I'll experiment with a few singles to see if I can find one I like.

Postroad pumpkin is a favorite...that wasn't too heavy with the spice.
so there's hope there are others that I might dig.
