The Goon

Finally stuck a light in this guy.
Every day around sunset, a family from around the corner brings their two small children to look at the scarecrow.  They were walking away two nights ago as I was going out to turn his light on (for the first time).  They came running back saying "Look! The Goon lights up!"  They told me they've been calling him The Goon.

I kinda love that.

And I think he's now The Goon.

That is awesome...makin memories!

Time to start checking the extended forecast and stressing out. Looks like a cool down may be coming.

You may enjoy this. Kind of a bummer that we didn't get to see what was in his head.

That's great! "The Goon."

Reminds me of this old Popeye cartoon:

Cool. Bringing Halloween memories to your neighborhood. Your will house will be known as the "Halloween House".

There maybe even an urban legend made about you. :)

Fantastic - what a great word, it's so rarely used, but it's perfect!

You're planting the seeds for some of these kids that will inspire them as adults to carry on our yard haunt traditions.

That's pretty great Rot. I like it too, "The Goon." ;) Human spawn can come up with some goodies.. Hell, I never thought of my dog as a "werewolf" until some little 5 year old said he was offhandedly to his parents as we walked by. My husband and I couldn't help but laugh to ourselves and wonder, *why we didn't we think of that?* Anyway, sorry to get off subject, but.. how great is it that a little kid has thoughts of werewolves and who knows what dancing around in his head? Must have awesome parents!

That's what I love the best about Halloween...the kids. This is a great story.

Nice.. One of the big reasons I like to share Halloween with the neighborhood.
I had a very similar situation documented here:

Love this story. Love that the family makes the trip to see it. Wish I had decorations in this neighborhood worth walking to see. :) Looks GREAT!

That is so cool! I just unveiled my scarecrow to the neighborhood, and I've yet to name him. Now, I'm thinking I should wait and see if the kids in the area come up with their own name for him!
