i felt some Mario Bava---Black Sunday aka the Mask of Satan...some Argento---Suspiria(ish)....a little Original Wicker Man...&..a dash of Rosemary's Baby...hmmmm...i Love those movies...

Definitely some Bava and Argento influences. I also detect some David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick.
Shame it won't see an October release. Really seems like it would have been a good fit for the Halloween season.
I know alot of people would disagree with me, but I really enjoy Rob Zombie's movies. Can't wait to see this one.

Geeked for this but completely bummed over the release date. Reviews are mixed but it sounds right up my alley. Concerned they aren't sure how to market it, A Rob Zombie Art Film is how its being described, still...surprised we aren't seeing an October release. Visuals are amazing.
I agree with you, Jay. I loved House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects. His remake of Halloween was a mixed bag, and I probably would have liked it a whole lot more if it didn't have the baggage of being a Halloween film. There was just no way for it to live up to the legacy of Carpenter's brilliant original. I'll say this, I liked it far more that I liked Halloween: Resurrection (of course, I like painful abdominal cramps more than I like H:R).
I thought his Halloween II was a good sequel to his remake, but it really has to be viewed as such (and definitely NOT as a remake of the 1981 film of the same name). As a film in the Halloween franchise it's such a weird tone shift, and really doesn't fit in as a part of that series, but it totally works as its own entity (particularly the director's cut). It may be one of the very few slasher sequels that actually examines the concept of how survivors would deal with such a horrible experience. It's not a good "Halloween" flick, but it is a decent horror yarn.
I'm just glad to see him back doing something original. He does much better when he is able to create his own characters and stories. He just isn't someone who needs to be writing and directing other people's creations, as he invariably winds up making them his own anyway. Best for him to do movies based on his own ideas

Ok, ok, ok, so the trailer looks unique and visually stunning, but then he went and had his wife riding a goat. See? I'm trying to fair, but I just have a bad Zombie taste in my mouth.
I think it does look chilling. The Devil disturbs me, and there's lots of devil imagery, so I'm intrigued.
