Nightmares

After watching this film again last night, it was so obvious as to why it has its place in the top Horror Film canon.

I watch these every time they come on. Robert Englund did so well playing his part.

I've always liked the concept of Freddy Krueger but part 4 is the only one I find to be close to entertaining.

Freddy is....."it" for me, obsessed with the first one, brutally disappointed by the remake. While I think Robert's portrayal is pure brilliance I've always thought the character was so original, so chilling in its possibilities, as much as I say the opposite about every other similar character, I would love to see him done right, done further. He has much more in him, in the right hands.

Well said.
The first is the only one that exists for me.

To see him again in a truly scary film would be bliss.

I love that movie! I remember watching it for the first time. My brother had rented it and specifically told me NOT to watch it because I was too young. Oh ok...he then proceded to buy the Freddy glove to torture me for not listenting. =) Good times...good times!

I actually really dug A New Nightmare too. I thought it was fresh and original. But I heart me some Kruger so it's no surprise really. Gah, the body bag. So chilling. A horror movie image that stays with you.
