Up until two minutes ago I had no idea what a steelbook was (but the artwork is fun!):

Ahhhh so they're doing 4K scans. that's cool.
when we saw Suspiria in the theatre last yr..it was actually restored in 4K & OMG it was Amazing to see it that way on the Big screen. so when it was released for home video we went with this steelbook edition...Three disc [Two Blu-rays + One CD] limited collector’s edition containing a new 4K restoration of the original uncut, uncensored Italian 35mm camera negative exclusively done by Synapse Films, with color correction supervised and approved by SUSPIRIA Director of Photography, Luciano Tovoli.

it's gorgeous but..i'm not too happy with the actual artwork on the cover. it's beautiful like i said..but, not, really my thing. Now..the backs of the steelbook & slipcover ARE Perfect. i dig the inner artwork as well.

steelbooks are funny things. i think they seem very exciting at first. but..i think they're only worth it, if they have some artwork that you're super crazy about & can't find anywhere else or if there's something special about the production quality or the special features. otherwise...

& 4K is SO expensive to put together for release. & usually it's only a scan..which is STILL great tho. we try to buy 4K of our fave films..but, only when they're priced really super well. it's all just a waiting game..whether it's for extras..restoration..art..price..music or whatever? there's always a release coming out. hahahha. always.

And I've never wanted to buy a Steelbook until now. Ordered direct to get the poster. So, so awesome.
