Poster: Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

A version of the iconic Stephen Gammell scarecrow is now a part of the film poster to the upcoming film.

I don't normally say stuff like this, but I wish I got the call for this.

and was that an opening in the original artwork? A hole?
I always thought it was the scarecrow's stomach.

Looks like a stomach to me.

And you would of made an EXCELLENT scarecrow for a movie like this.

I saw a teaser for the movie during the game last night. I must say it was the highlight of the game. Rot you really should make a scarecrow and send distressed, blood spattered photos of it in a small brown box to the director. That would get his attention.

Would love to see your take on this.

Yep, you definitely should have gotten the phone call here. :)

I feel like this poster is a bit of a miss on multiple levels, but that interpretation of 'Harold' is the most egregious element by far.

It's a pretty poor take on the original artwork in specific, which, in my estimation, was already a less than stellar representation of the Stephen Gammell aesthetic in general.

The little snippets in the various mini-trailers are a bit more encouraging. Fingers crossed....
