The Dark Crystal played a major creative role in my childhood. Falling in love with the Skeksis creatures kinda sealed the deal back then. My brother and I would often talk about building a Skeksis costume when we were kids, but we never followed through. I think we built the head though.

So many great things in that movie. My favorite was those Insectoid sentinels.
This movie was such a HUGE part of my childhood. The Skeksis, the Mystics, The Garthim, The Gelfings....so many amazing creature designs! It was an incredibly well realized mythology. I really need to pick up the Blu-Ray of this one.
Gosh, how many times have I seen that movie? I still love it.
