I have never watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There. I said it.

Holy Shit! It is a bit dated and the ending sort of falls apart.

Aww Rot, you're a Virgin! :-p I was in a cast down here in MD for several years (still go to all of their shows.) It's totally not worth it to just watch it on DVD at home, the movie itself sucks.

I'll just go ahead and up the ante: you're not missing much.

I expected a totally different response.

I'm not feeling so bad now.

I actually liked it. It's campy but fun. I think it's a classic. Gotta see it at least once.

yeah...if not just for Tim Curry

I'll definitely make a point to watch it.

Oh man! A huge part of my coming of age was going to RH and being in a cast! I love its God-awfulness! :) I played a Transylvanian at first, then Trixxie, then Frankenfurter. Good times.

Rot, if you're going to watch it, watch it as it was intended: at a midnight movie showing where people go in costume and shout all the lines at the screen!

Watching the DVD as your first time will be disappointing.

It's the crazy people, the toast being pitched around the theater, the water from spray bottles to duplicate the "rain" on screen, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Tim Curry (and Little Nell, punk rock star of the day!), and all the craziness that goes with Meat Loaf stomping across the screen that makes it special.

Oh, yes, little Virgin. Get deflowered the right way! ;o)

Do not be ashamed. I have not either.

The movie itself is terrible, you aren't missing much. The real experience is in being with a group and poking fun at the movie. And even then it's not really all that. Saw it ages ago before the whole virgin auction thing and casts in front of the screen. Back when it was just shout out at the screen a la MST3K. All that other stuff came after my time. I went a few times since but never went in, it was just to hang out with friends in the lot while the younger crowds did stupid crap that younger crowds do.

My two cents... Watch the movie, then go see the stage show in New hope, but only if it's at the playhouse, not Havanna's. They used to run it weekends in october, at midnight. Go armed, water sprayer, toast, umbrella hat..... :)It's cheesy, but fun!

You ain't missing much hahah. I personally am not a fan of the movie. Seeing it done live and throwing things while it happens is kinda fun though

Go to Havana's in Newhope on the weekend before Halloween and see the musical. They used to do it at the playhouse, but it got shutdown.

Crazy good time.

I believe the Playhouse has been reopened! I sure hope so! Havanna's is just not my scene!

I was the regular Frank N Furter for the Houston cast, on and off, for almost 10 years! It isn't a great movie...but it isn't supposed to be...it's a parody of bad b-movies. It is QUITE intentionally campy and weird...it's basically a mash-up of 50's sci-fi and Ed Wood movies...set to a rock opera score., It has GREAT tunes though, and that is what makes it so much fun. Of course, the point is to see it in the theater, with a live cast and a participating audience. If you get the chance to see a production of the original stage play, it's even better! You should, at the very least, listen to the soundtrack. It really is a fantastic piece of rock musical camp fun.

I've been meaning to do a series of blogs on my experiences in the RHPS cast...perhaps it's time.

I think my parents showed me it when I was 5, and I've never watched it since.

I'm with Jon. You're not missing much.
Although I believe NoahFentz will beg to differ.

Ha! I only watched it one time because a friend said I had to, so I figured I would give it a shot. Ya, your not missing anything. I never seen it in a theater setting either. Maybe if I was up top just to watch them all do their thing I guess.

LOL that's ok. I've never seen it the whole way through and honestly I don't get what all the hype is about. Tim Curry is about the best part...I hate to say it...but he looks incredible in fish nets :)

Good times when I was a kid. Not sure I'd dare it today. Too many props to build.

hmmm... neither have I.

yeah..yeah...where do I start?

It was great when it all began....Halloween 1978 when I first saw the movie. I was hooked. Went every weekend during High school thru Senior year. I joined a cast 1n 82. Met my wife there. I played Brad and she was Magenta.

Rocky Horror is the element that sent me on this path I am living now. My wife, my kids, NYC, Halloween....

I started a blog but got side tracked like everything else. The movie is cool, love the sound track but the experience has been life changing for me....

I was always too afraid to announce it... But now that you have, I will as well. I too have never seen it.

My wife and I went with some friends in the spring and saw a live play of Rocky Horror in a local park. It was a lot of fun.... and there were pretty laddies in their underwear :)

Et Tu Johnny Love. holy crap, amazing. I like the music mostly, I will admit I have seen the movie several times at home, and never at a theater the way everyone has seen it. I always wanted to see it at the midnights but just wasnt my thing. Im sure its fun that way.
