Cloudy

So who else has been checking the completely unreliable 10-day forecast like a nervous ferret?
Why does the human race even HAVE a 10-day forecast?
And weather.com actually has a "Halloween" option to click.

Preceded by 3 days of rain, it seems I'm going to have a cloudy Halloween:

"Cloudy. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 40s."

This year I vow not to keep checking.

Until tomorrow.

I can't even look. I've resigned myself to keeping things on the front porch as much as possible. After a foot of snow last year and driving rain the year before, I've become very cautious.

Sure would be nice to have a Halloween night that actually felt like the real thing.

we've had no precip for months here. It's been raining all morning today with a 20% chance all the rest of the week. We'll see what happens.

AccuWeather.com keeps alternating each day I check between clear, cloudy, rain, and snow... SNOW?! After last year's complete Halloween shutdown in our town and over a week without power I'm not sure my heart can take a second snowstorm on Halloween.

10 day says snow showers 30th and 31st, this after days approaching 80°.

After last year's total washout you bet I'm nervous.

Jeff, after last year's freak snow storm and washout, I think every haunter in the northeast is biting their nails - and rightfully so. The entire week of Halloween was without power in our neighborhood. Trees down everywhere. Our town actually officially cancelled Halloween. I know we weren't the only ones. I'm sure other haunters were the same or worse.

No matter, I'll keep moving ahead and whatever happens happens...

Meh there's always Walpurgis Night 2013, man how I wish THAT holiday would gain popularity in this country. I mean seriously? If they can do that OTHER holiday in July, why can't we have a Halloween equivalent in April?

whew...looks like zero chance of rain predicted in my zrea. Therefore, torrential downpours are certain.

Oh my gosh I have been! Our party is this Saturday and it's an Evil Circus theme so basically the midway has been built in the back yard. Last year was perfect weather, I was hoping for a night just like that! Michigan is forecasting snow on Halloween! :(

Agreed. I think after checking this morning, I will give it a rest. It will be what the Halloween Gods see fit. I get too frustrated when they say 50's and we get 20's. wish I could be wrong 70% of the time on my job and have it be ok.

Nashville's 10 day shows pretty non-stop sun, right up til Halloween which ominously shows "clouds" - and of course they don't show the next day which is bothersome..

I was literally just doing this.

Why? Because the Weather Channel hates haunters, that's why. I'm totally convinced of it!

I don't even have to check the weather - cuz I already know it will be HOT. It was 89 degrees on Sunday while I was trying to get some stuff set up in the yard. 20 mile an hour winds and hot. It might "cool" off to 75 Halloween night. Makes putting on a costume a sweaty affair.

yup. I too am guilty of checking the 10 day forecast.

55 & cloudy would be perfect, but I am in full panic mode.

I would type "LOL" except for the fact that I'm absolutely terrified that there's going to be bad weather--I'm going to run my haunt this Friday and Saturday (can't get actors to show up in the middle of the week)and since last year was such a complete weather disaster, I am hoping that the gods will have a little pity on me. They owe me.

Ugh. 60% chance of ran on the 31st. Please tell me this is going to change.....

I hate weather forecasters.

It'll totally change.

Truthfully, in my experience, it's only good to check TWO DAYS before Halloween...and even THEN they've been wrong.

I'd love a crisp fall evening with a nip in the air and a light breeze but I wouldn't be broken up if it was hot and clear. I took the week off so the old girls will dress accordingly alongside their minions.

...I hadn't been checking the weather, but I have been checking the blog like a nervous ferret! lol, trying to cram in all the Halloween I can!

Our weather is looking like rain now. An this is the first year in a long time I was planning to pass out candy. (At a friends, we are in the middle of nowhere at our house!)

BTW...I've got ask and maybe you've posted it before...what do you guys pass out as treats? ...king size candy bars, perhaps? :) ...pumpkin hollow gift card? ...would you give candy to a slightly deranged adult, in costume of course, who drove 6 hours to make TOT?

Rot said...

I've never posted that before. Funny because a friend asked that just recently and they assumed I gave out king sized candy bars. And I realized that I've NEVER given out king sized candy bars. I mean, we would tuck a couple large bars away for the neighbors' kids, but that's all. I guess the money thing is a legitimate concern since we drop a lot of money on pumpkins and cornstalks and supplies every year...

I always give out what I liked getting as a kid...non-chocolate stuff... fruity candy, like Dots and taffy and twizzlers and spree and smarties... I LOVED getting those to offset the chocolate.
