Prequel

I found out yesterday by accident that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was, in fact, a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Set one year prior to the events in Raiders.

How can I have lived this long never hearing of this?

I liken this to finding out you were adopted (I wish) or that one of your parents were previously married and you suddenly have a bunch of half-sisters and half-brothers.

Never knew that either. Now I'm going to have to watch it again.

hmmm...Carl says, the year is posted after the credits, in the beginning of the film along with the location, so you don't have to wonder about his relationship with Marion, along with paving the way for Indiana to be EVEN more thuggish & mercenary.

as for me...i never really thought about it like that.
hahahaha...i'm so outta the loop!

When I bought the trilogy set on VHS in the early 2000's, they were boxed in order of release but on the side of the slip case it had the year that each one took place in and that was when I noticed that Temple takes place in 1935 and Raiders takes place in 1936.

Such a classic. I still remember when I first saw it- sitting in the theatre.

It was such a good movie. The first one. Before it became money.
