I have to admit that I own the entire series on DVD and still enjoy pulling out some of my favorite episodes. This will be a must-see for me. Thanks for the heads-up Rot.

can't wait to watch this. i think there's a giant companion book too.

chris carter is like a living legend. when x.files came on tv...it was SO wow to see movie quality material on tv, every week was another quality episode. i guess he helped to sculpt & change the face of mod tv. he was/is SO successful in delivering the semi-anthological series...using his favourite show, The Night Stalker as a template & yet, still feel new & not like a rip-off. he likes his female characters strong, cause, they have to be, in order to keep the intense men they love, sane. he's so loyal too, says, he won't do any stand alone versions of his shows without the partnership of the (Fox) studio. he's a rare man. not just out for fame or a buck.

millennium...went even further into the darkness. gave us Frank Black, a superhero in the vain of like, David Dunn (Unbreakable) & Lance Henriksen!!!! such a treasure. with the passing of Michael Parks & Powers Booth, the well of wonderful character actors is running dry. hopefully we'll have Lance, Stacy Keach & William Sadler around for a lonnnng time to come.

Autumnleaf...we have the full series of Millennium on dvd too. you might also enjoy owning the original, Night Stalker tv series, on dvd as well & since it only ran for one season, it's a one time purchase. except for the 2 tv movies which are separate, but, not really necessary, cause, the actual series does run a little differently than the pilot movie & the other one.

Ok, this is weird. I googled Night Stalker just to refresh my memory of the series of which I had no idea there were two. I of course being as old as dirt remember the '74'75 one. I guess there's a 2005 rendition as well. But the weirdness is what dominated the Night Stalker search on google; Richard Ramirez. He was dubbed the 'Night Stalker' in the 80's because of his habit of breaking into the houses of usually single middle-aged women. The horrible things he did to them is well-documented. It just so happens that one of his favorite haunts was the San Gabriel valley area in which I am presently located and one of his victims lived in Monrovia (my present haunt). It was rumored that he targeted....gulp....yellow houses, the color which I surreptitiously decided to paint the place upon moving in some twenty-plus years ago. Had it not been separated by a decade or so the deeds of this now-deceased monster might have had a definite influence on my choice of house color.

But yes, girl6, I thoroughly enjoyed the Night Stalker (the 70's version) and would consider revisiting the series for nostalgia's sake. Thanks for the suggestion!

Autumnleaf, he victimized somebody a mile away from us. I was in grade school at the time and it was a few houses down from my friend. That was a scary bit of time...the house was indeed yellow.

Good catch Autumnleaf with the 2nd Night Stalker. i thought about mentioning it to you. but, decided to pass. Stuart Townsend is Koljak in that interpretation. i was all set to TOTALLY dislike it, because, i'm wasn't a big Stuart Townsend fan, but, i decided to give it a chance anyway. &&&& it was sorta Ok. i kinda appreciated it in it's own way. Funny, how both embodiments ONLY lasted one season. i even picked it up on dvd at (end of day sale) a horror convention for $5. i have also grown to appreciate Stuart Townsend a bit more now too. i think he spent a lot of time being miscast as sexy vampires etc. however, i caught him in a few eps of Will & Grace & Omg...he was hilarious, villainy & kinda sexy too. so yeah, he's def talented just usually not appreciated in the best of ways. so Autumnleaf, you might just wanna totally pass on the new one.

& Man that is SCARY about the REAL Night Stalker. & i swear Richard Ramirez is one frightful looking dude!!!!! Brrrrrrrrrr. whenever i see someone wearing a tshirt with his face or Manson's face on it. i ALWAYS HAVE to ask way? it's the same as wearing Hitler on a tshirt. NOT Cool. i think of the victims families. & the reply i usually always receive is....Oh, i never really thought of it that way. really, whyyyyyyy not. ughhhhhh.

paint party at Autumnleaf's!!!..say, a nice burnt shade of pumpkin perhaps. & we'll hang a new Phantasm poster too. : ))))))))))))))

Yep, definitely give me the old originals. It's the story that is new...remaking it w/all the 'modern' attributes just isn't the same...even if they put twists and turns in. Still isn't the freshness and excitement of the original idea. I'm sticking with Alien...the first one!

I'll have to google Stuart Townsend. I don't think I know this fellow.

Love burnt orange-pumpkin! Now I wish I had kept that poster too.

Apologies to Rot for going so off-topic here. Just couldn't resist mentioning the notorious psycho dude of the San Gabriel Valley. Not sure if they ever made a film about him. I think his deeds were just too heinous and graphic.

Still looking forward to bringing back Frank Black!!!

i LOVE talking about stuff. : D
what's that saying...."i tingle when i mingle". HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!

Rot...i don't think i've said this before on here. but, here goes....when i was a kid, i LOVED going on rides with my pop. even going to the hardware store with him was a treat for me. he would stand around & talk to his friends about all kinds of stuff & i was very aware of how happy they all were, just standing around & "shooting the breeze" as they would call it. then we would hit the bakery on the way home & load on up on pastries. GREAT times!!! FAST Forward...i've been VERY lucky to find my own hardware store, your WONDERFUL Blog, where i can shoot the (horror variety) breeze. SO many lovely people on here!!!

Thank You Rot...i REALLY appreciate it & you!!!... : )

Autumnleaf...next time we're in Cali, we're taking you out for some hardware & pastry. : )
