Signs Of [Halloween] Life

Looked out the window last night and saw some green and purple lights strung along the hedges of a house at the end of the block.  Got that excited feeling realizing It was coming.  Was thinking I'd be the first house with lights up as I'm going to hang them after work today.  So this is a very promising sign.

Please, Neighborhood, go crazy this year.
Pretty please.

Our sentiments exactly. We were so happy to see a home a few doors down from us put up a haunt this year with fancy cloth and twine spider webs coming down from their 2nd story windows with giant spiders and LED flood lights uplighting the webs. Always hope the neighbors feel a little peer pressure from us when it comes to Halloween! lol

There's really only 2 houses on my street that put displays up...one of them has this giant skull headed guy that is very cool! Gonna try and get a good pic of him tonight. It's disappointing that more people on this street don't put a little more effort into the holiday being it's in one of the historical districts (3 of them total) and for some reason this street is THE STREET that everyone from surrounding neighborhoods come to...But I'm so stoked about actually living in a house that's looks spooky already without decorations. Maybe the enthusiasm will start to rub off on the neighbors. ;)

Came home from work today and saw a couple of house with decorations up. Makes me so happy. Each year more and more set up. I think it’s new families in the hood with kids. I need to start taking evening walks and pics.

Lights go out here tomorrow, and I'm evidently already late.

I've heard from a few folks that there are houses in the neighborhood that have "their stuff out already", and even though folks know that I won't hang so much as a light prior to 10/1, I still got a few quasi-accusatory "what are you waiting for" style inquiries.

So, it seems like there are quite a few folks around here that are ready to get their Halloween on, think I'm slacking, and I couldn't be happier about any of it.

I saw a couple little ghosts hanging from a house lamp post on my way home from the gym. I love spotting decorations. There's a house several blocks away that puts up a pallet maze with tons of stuff that looks like a major fire hazard. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow.

Haha Totally a hazard. Hope it's all set up.

Hoping to spy more and more Halloween "out in the wild." I've done my little part. :)

Happy October!

Halloween string lights (on of the most under-utilized Halloween decorations in my opinion) are so nostalgic for me! They always excite me this time of year!
