Posting here -sorry..
Watched a movie called Southbound last night which I'm pretty sure is made by the same folks that did The Signal (the indie one) and Rites of Spring. It's a bit of a multi-story mashup of uh... weird, devilish stuff.
Anyway - the first bit (and elsewhere in the film) reveals some floating desert "sentinels" for lack of a better term. These creatures from a distance are entirely pumpkinrot-ish. If you haven't already seen this give it a look. I'd say there's a chance these filmmakers are fans..
