Tall Grass And Zombies

Six new groundbreakers going up on the shop tomorrow.
I won't be making any more until after Halloween.

I had some fun with these guys, using skulls I found at Walgreens.

JESUS F*CKING CHRIST! That's the scariest and most disturbing thing you've made so far! HOLY SH*T!OH MY GOD!

I'm really liking the addition of the eyes in these.
The "fresh zombie" in the front is cool!

I think I'm the first of your fans to see this. Amazing work rot. It's outstanding. You should show these to your nephews. wow. I think your getting more and more disturbed. Imagine the haunt this year! wait... OH! THE LEPER GRAVEYARD! thats this years yard haunt isn't it! fantastic, but at the same time, horribly awful.

Nope. I'm not doing a Leper Graveyard. That was something I was going to do to these guys for the shop, but when I got to that point in the detail, I figured they looked cool without the bandages...so I'll make the Lepers later.

My 2010 Halloween is still a big fat secret. >: )

I really like the addition of the skull!! If I were rich I'd buy it. :)

how on earth do you make so many? it took me AGES to make 5. You can see them on my blog. I think your going to end up with a lot of comments on this one.

I've been making them for years so the process is a lot faster these days.

But I guess it's just making sure I treat it like a job. I come home after work and usually work on props for an hour or two every night.

Weekends especially.

Really glad you guys dig em so much.

The skinned one was fun. I imagine he's fresh and his skin kinda ripped just as he was leaving the ground.

Awesome as usual. I am digging the freshy in the front. I was eyeballing those skulls at Walgreens the other night too. $5.99 right? For a brief moment I thought your secret had been leaked. Great stuff

HA. Yep. I figured I'd pick up a few for the last batch.

Usually I just use a mache mold of a skull which I then have to build up with tape and more mache. So this made it a quicker process.

And at $5.99, you can't beat it. Those are just cool to have around the house as decorations too. Great detail for something so cheap.

Gah, these are amazingly creepy. I keep thinking about the skin sloughing off the fresh one..

Love the guy on the bottom, far left

I must say the "fresh" one really looks like some really nasty stuff I've seen at work. I suppose that would be a huge compliment. Sometimes I wish I could see your stuff through non-desensitized (sensitized???)eyes.

Rot those are bloody brilliant! I was just looking at those skulls tonight in Walgreens. Those things are pretty solid resin for the price and packed a little weight. How hard were they to work with and get connected up to a torso?

Rot said...

I use pvc and high-end duct tape to secure the heads.

OOOOhhh damn... bloody one is calling to me.

Amazing work as always. I am going to have to try my hand at one of these soon. Right now I am working on a spider and egg sack.

Excellent as usual Rot. I'm really digging those skulls you use. The bloody one really stands out.
