Drive Thru

I always hated people who used the drive thru for something like Dunkin Donuts (until I started using the drive thru for Dunkin Donuts).  This morning I thought I would be funny, so I ordered a large iced coffee with pumpkin syrup, but joked that I feel that as a valued customer I should get extra pumpkin syrup.  The voice on the scratchy intercom thingy didn't think I was joking.  So I tried to explain it was a joke...at 5:45 in the morning.  Both of us were annoyed (at me).
The good news:  I got my extra syrup.
The bad news:  I'm drinking it shamefully.

Seriously.  Don't joke with this thing.

My wife applauds you. She loves D.D coffee, and anything extra with coffee is awesome.

My fiancee works for manages a starbucks. And if you think extra pumpkin syrup is a unreasonable request you should here the ridiculous combinations people order at her place. It coffee snobbery i tell ya.

You're lucky! The intercom at our Dunks drive through is terrible. They always, always get my order wrong. My husband finally came to understand why when I can, I just park and walk in, instead.

But, glad you got your syrup and are enjoying!

Lol!!

Btw, not really, but did you catch Sleepy Hollow on Fox last night?

nah...totally forgot about it.
should i look for it on-demand?

did you dig it?

Well, we'll tune in again next week since we don't watch anything Monday nights, but it wasn't stellar. Kinda fun, heads did roll, kind of annoying skanky witch stuff but a cool spin on the whole headless legend.... The acting wasn't horrible and I dug the characters for the most part. I will admit it was fun to see some Halloweey gore and I swear to you, they stole a line from the first Halloween. About the headless horseman being pure evil, and coming back to Sleepy Hollow, etc.

Anyway,I'd give it a go to see if you want to keep watching. Dunno if the next episode will recap or not....

It was ok IMO, not great, I agree with Sara. Interesting take on the tale. I'll probably watch again to see where it goes over the next few weeks. I'm not a very loyal tv watcher though.

.... and DD buries Starbucks coffee wise.

I watched it too and will give it a shot every week...and I had to change DD's because my old one had bums that would hang out front and try to talk to you as you went in!

Jeff,

Im a fan of neither really. Starbucks' fancy drinks are great. But I'm not big on their regular coffee. And i don't know where you live but coffee from D&D in NJ has a really vinegary crummy after taste to it. I find it only starts to taste good when you get into conn and mass areas on the east coast

We watched Sleepy Hallow last night. It was ok. I'll definitely watch again, like everyone else I'd like to see where it goes. I will admit...the actor that plays Ichabod Crane isn't too hard to watch either. That definitely doesn't hurt. ;-)

Oh.....and as far as Starbucks vs. Dunkin Donuts.....It's kind of like wine....White Zinfendel is for those that don' t really drink wine......D&D is kind of the coffee for people that don't really like coffee. =D

as a man who has been obsessed with fresh roasted coffee for years, i believe i take offense at the suggestion that DD coffee is for folks who don't know coffee.

this past sunday, i wanted to try the (hot) white pumpkin latte at DD & i loved it!..so much so, i was happy i had gotten the large size.

white pumpkin latte sounds awesome. And i am sorry for having mentioned D&D vs Starbucks on this board. I hear about that all the time do to my fiancee. This is a place I come to escape that. God forbid coffee wars leak their way into a place i go for an escape haha. Now lets get back to less evil conversations about the devil, halloween and mass murderes. K?

I believe my joke was lost...and its not even 5:45 in the am

Oh my. I just mentioned that because that's what my husband said to me when I admitted that I liked D&D coffee better if I just want a plain black cup of joe. I thought it was a funny analogy. =) No coffee wars here. Now....what were we talking about? Halloween I believe! =)

no worries.
we're all good. : )
