News like this makes me hope for the day I get contacted in regards to turning Swamp Foetus into a feature film.
Though I wonder how on earth this would be interesting in a format longer than a few minutes. Or a few seconds.

Actually I'm surprised that nobody has turned something like this into a horror film. Kind of like the DUMB movie a little while ago called "Unfriended", or something like that. Horrible movie.
Lovely, creepy little short...but I agree...not sure how they are going to expand that into a feature film.
WETA can make all the puppets for Swamp Foetus. They'll fly you out to the workshop to oversee everything. You'll demand an office....
Yeah there's no way this turns out good. Just like Jay's Shadow said, I liked Unfriended more when it was the short film Suicide Girl by Daywalt Horror. Unfriended the feature length movie just was very incredibly bad.
Swamp Foetus would make a great feature length though.

man...the whole unexplained shadowy figure can be pretty scary when done properly, like this.brrrrr can't you just see kim kardashian playing this chick & then Bingo!!! she gets taken out..HAHAHAHA just like paris hilton style in house of wax..HAHAHHA...<333!!!
swamp foetus would make for a great full feature length. you just need a good writer. someone like john sayles, not only is he a wonderful inde film director, but he's also a wonderful screenplay writer. he actually screenplayed the ORIGINAL Piranha for joe dante. i've heard different directors say, "if you want someone who's a great write & fast too you can always count on john sayles".
speaking of swamp foetus...how lovely would it be, if poppy z brite hooked you up on the writing end, i mean gahhhh....i bet he could really do swamp foetus the justice it deserves. (he would surely come out of retirement to do so) i bet mike d. loves your swamp foetus short..<333333333333
