This can't be real. Can it?
Wait he IS Papa John?! Wth?! I live under a rock. Thank God. Lol Ms. Slimer. At this point all I can do is laugh. Or cry....
Please wake me up! This is drumming up to be a thousand times worse than the hot garbage Indiana Jones movie that came out a few years ago. Female cast? Fine. Not the original guys, I can deal. But from what I have seen so far, it seems I stand a better chance being able to watch a marathon of BBC documentaries on the crapping habits of cows, and be less offended. This is the gleaming example as to why Hollywood needs to be torched, then rebuilt. Marketed to the super-lowest common denominator, its hokey and unoriginal. Mark my words, this movie will be the death blow to the careers of the actresses involved. I honestly feel bad for them. Funny ladies, now roped into the soon to be most hated movie of all time! It infuriates me that Dan Ackroyd gave it his blessing. Harold Ramis must be spinning in his grave. That said I hope the portal to Gozer opens up above every theater playing this filth and swallows them all whole. Feeeewwww, that felt good! I'll go back to collecting spores, molds and fungus now.
Literally all they did was take Slimer, give him some lipstick, blush, and a Hairspray musical wig and tada, female Slimer.Which of the idiots who wrote this thing thought it was a good idea?
You think the new movie will be worth the viewing, Rot?
Whats's with his eyebrows anyway?
I feel like Slimer and Papa are CG.I hate that I just said "papa"I imagine a room full of uncreative folks pushing ideas about how to make the new Ghostbusters better than the original...and some young guy (son of executive) says "I got it...how about...MIIIIISSSSSESSSSSSSS SLIMER!" and everyone in the room praises his idea.I hate being on this hate-the-new-ghostbusters-before-I've-seen-it kick...but nothing about the trailers seems anything less than horrible. The female slimmer is very symbolic for me.
I admit to liking the idea of the new Ghostbusters being all women - esp. with kristen wig involved. But, unfortunately, looks like they made a mess of it. How disappointing. :(
Chris,I really TRULY want it to prove everyone wrong. But the stuff in the trailer feels too "modern" to me... like a passing fad.Like throw-away. I hope people will be watching this twenty years after it's made. But I just have a bad feeling.
AHAHAHHAAHAHAH!!!..."papa"his pizza is so horrible, it's that fake kinda pizza & he does drive a Camaro, so no surprises with him being in that crazy ass commercial. AHAHAHHAHAHA.i blame suburbia for nonsense like this, David Lynch was/issssss SO right. i feel sorry for NO one. Society loves mediocrity, so let them have it.
Oh & Sex in the City is more slop that i blame contributing to bad entertainment. i remember when the Sex in the City film was released & i passed the Roxy theatre where it was playing OMG....the line was literally around the corner...droves of chicks standing around with their tortured hubs/boyfriends. so GROSS. so of course H.Wood was like hey, let's make a Ghostbusters but with all babes, cause look at how much they love bad stuff like Sex in the City..barfy..
Looks like papa got some Botox or something....
Girl6- Well, now "barfy" is the term that will be used from here on out to describe things people on this site don't like.BARFY! Now and forever!!!!!
I'm going to go against the flow and say I'd like to see this once on the big screen. Then I'm done. Nothing will touch the original for me (does it ever :) but the Victorian figure and that mirror w/all the hands/tortured souls in it is intriguing.
I'm with Autumnleaf. I actually will see this. The original holds an extremely special place in my heart and this one will probably do some damage to that memory...but I just have to see it. It looks absolutely, ridiculously awful though. The part that upsets me most is not cgi but the lack of true humor this ones seems to show. Creative, clever and intelligent humor is nowhere to be seen in the trailer. That is what disappoints me the most.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x01l_jMhjVMAppropriate...Gremlins 2...Key & Peele.Apparently this guy showed up for the new Ghostbusters...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x01l_jMhjVMKey & Peele, Gremlins 2. So very appropriate.Slightly NSFW for language.
I LOVE that skit! I thought of this when I saw the preview. ELECTRICITY GREMLIN Y'ALL!!! Haha
The sad thing about this is that these ladies are really talented...but this movie just looks BAD! I have no problem with an all-female Ghostbusters crew, but I think they should have made them the daughters or proteges of the original team instead of just a gender-swapped remake. The liberal use of CGI is also a huge problem. I don't mind some, but let's face it...the practical effects ghosts blow these out of the water. Heck, in some cases the ghosts from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon look more realistic than these!
Adam...Yessss!!!. B a r f y...barfy!!!!!sometimes things are just barfy.i just thought that if they wanted to pair up this cast of lovely ladies, they coulda given them their own vehicle, scott free, no old baggage attached. i especially love melissa mccarthy & leslie jones!! HAHAHAHHA!! if you haven't caught melissa mccarthy in "Spy" Pleassssssse do so. OMG..she & my other fave, jason statham, tear it up!!!..HAHAHAH. especially the surprise ending, that you had to wait for after all the credits. Bingo!!anyways...Ghostbusters borrowed a lot from "the ghost breakers" a wonderful & VERY old comedy film starring bob hope & paulette goddard. dan ackroyd even tried to buy the rights etc to "the ghost breakers" before Ghostbusters was released to avoid any kinda problems. he never got to do so, cause no one was interested in selling & they got tired of holding off so they just wend ahead & released Ghostbusters. so there ya go, Ghostbusters, not as original as ya would first think. "the ghost breakers" is outrageously funny!!!! & very scary too!!!!, especially with the whole zombie/voodoo spin. in my opinion, it's funnier than Ghosbusters & much more of a classic. but Ghostbusters is pretty cool too. : )so why couldn't they just do what the movie Chronicle did? Chronicle is basically a riff on the The Craft. where as The Craft is a cast of young female witches struggling with their powers & heartaches...Chronicle is a new movie with an all young male cast, struggling with their superhero powers & heartaches. why couldn't this cast of cool chicks had their OWN story of hunting the supernatural or whatever.& lastly...pisses me off that projects like "mountains of madness" were just cancelled. BUT, this gets the go ahead. movies like Crimson Peak & Lovely Bones, both beautiful ghost stories struggle to survive & movies like this get all the hype. would be nice if people supported the NEW films a lot more & not just talked about doing so. ya gotta support when you can.& Autumnleaf...i think you would love both Crimson Peak & Lovely Bones. Crimson Peak has the most amazing LOVE of Victorian treading thru it & Lovely Bones is just so beautifully sad, good food for your soul. : )
I plan to see it, but right now I'm like, "Wait...what?! How did Papa John end up in this movie??" Confounding!
Oh & i heard melissa mccarthy feels bad that the movie is being sooooooo pre.trashed. i'll be there regardless, to support the ladies!! so i guess they win after all.. hahahha. you know with getting $$$ from me. &&&&&...for the 1000th time..Damn You James C!!!! for making avatar & titanic so you could cash in on the lady movie shoppers loot. yeah, it's been proven..ladies will spend more $$$ than men generally so there you go. : (that's why the NEW Mad Max film IS SO Good..it's FOR the Ladies & IT'S Good!!!!
i don't think anything can be barfier tho than avatar (i'll take the smurfs any day) or titantic..yuck!!
At the risk of beating a dead horse, I'm posting a youtube review of the trailer. I've seen a few but this one is great. I thoroughly enjoyed this as he articulates everything I'm feeling about it all. https://youtu.be/ZbA9fLiEfuo
hey, that was GREAT.if nothing else, it was a wonderful analysis of the original.
Lol!! I take it back. I'm not going to spend my money. Instead, I've ordered a copy of Crimson Peak. @ girl6....this looks wonderfully Victorian. How did I miss this? I think 2015 was my 'head stuck in sand' period. Did anyone notice that vvitch is out as well? Somebody smack me.
HAHAHAHA!!!! Autumnleaf...sassy girl!!!. : )hey, i'm so excited to hear you purchased Crimson Peak. that movie is packed with so much beautiful decadent decay. rotten beauty...gah!! the house itself is a most extraordinary character. great cast of heroes & villains. oh & if you're a jesscia chastain fan, check out her & colin farrell's version of miss julie...crazy good!
