Season Of The Witch

Then there was only the sound of the rain outside in the endless blackness of the long night and, presently, the rising tones of a pitiful wailing within and without, spreading across the station, the town, and the land without end.

Bean picked me up a copy of the Halloween III novelization.
Something I've wanted for a VERY long time.

Going to burn through that thing.

I recall that being an interesting, albeit quick read. It was odd to read prior to seeing the Halloween 3 movie after having read the previous novelizations and seeing the previous movies. I recall being somewhat chilled as I walked down the tiny book section of the local small town drug store in the early 1980's and seeing this book and thinking Michael Myers had somehow returned...again.
The novel was an interesting combination of disappointment and intrigue. Strangely compelling and off-putting at the same time. I think the book is still in a box in the attic at my mother's house...

It's a brisk read. I also picked up The Fog, by the same author (He penned several Carpenter novels under different names -- but he is always Dennis Etchison) hoping for a similarly fun experience, but I can't seem to get through the fog. Very clunky. Seems like two different guys wrote them. But the H3 novel? A seasonal gem.

hey your pumpkinrot 'what's brewing' header here doesn't have "what's brewing" on it.

Can't speak for the quality of the book (haven't read it) but that's some awesome cover art!

Crudedoodle, I actually decided to ditch the "what's brewing" part of the title pic.

like to know what you think about it when you're finished reading...

I'll do a follow up entry : )

I flipped through to check certain parts since I'm such a huge fan of the movie... Subtle changes were made that I think actually strenghten the tale...

So that's cool.
