hahahha.
i like the FUN SIZE tho. smaller & MORE variety. i don't want to commit to just one giant candy bar. i wanna bunch of different flavours. the kids in our family dig the smaller size/ variety too. Plus..the FUN size always have those cool Halloween graphics celebrating the GRAND Day...exotic little pretties. the BIG bars are SO Blahhhhhhh.

Oh & the littles are SO fresh..cause they're just off the press for the season. while the BIGS are kinda iffy in their freshness factor. nothing like a BIG Ol faded (kinda whitish) chocolate candy bar...especially at Halloween time!!!

I give out the BIG bars.....big house=big bars....it's kind of a law around here.

I think this is a good rule...for me small house = dots/tootsie rolls

Lol, Rot. I bet you think that!

My father was always going on about the full size candy bars given out in his day. This year I am gonna be the house with the big candy bars.

Somebody has to be there to offer an alternative to the giant candy bars.
I like to think of myself as providing all those colorful minor players that help make a Halloween sack so much more enjoyable. Too many King Size and it would be weird and disappointing..... But one or two King Size surrounded by colorful alternatives... well, that's just Halloween!

Somebody's gotta do it.

So, in a way....my offerings are more important than the King size candy bars. Like the unsung hero... the underdog.

Lol...I live on a 'flag' lot...which means there is a looooonnng driveway down between two other houses that lead to our place...approximately 350 feet from the street to my front door.

Rest assured, anyone who braves the distance has to be rewarded with a fistful of candy. I do try to meet them half way on occasion and place the folding table and 20 foot inflatable cat right behind me so that they don't have to work so hard. I still give the fistful of candy. I am always amazed at how many people go the distance for the reward.

On occasion, I break all the rules and do those little "goody bags" tied up in black and orange ribbon. I remember as a kid getting those little paper bags with the top usually folded over and taped or stapled, and there was a witch or pumpkin or skeleton printed on the outside and there was never really anything especially good inside, but the thrill of hearing the big "PLOP" sound, when the homeowner tossed it in your bag of candy....and then later, opening the festive little parcel at home, high on the magic of the night and excessive sugar intake. That too, is another Halloween house, because of all the time it takes to put those little bags together. (I am the queen of run-on sentences....no judgement)

Pumpkin5, I totally loved the little paper bags with candy. In fact you’ve inspired me to give those out instead this year! I miss those! As cynical as we all may be about the youth of today I bet most of them would love to receive such a thing.
