Autumn

And it's going to be 93 degrees tomorrow.

Come ON.

Trying to be positive, so I'm thinking of things that might be GOOD about a warm Halloween:
1. Fog Chillers will make awesome ground-hugging fog.
2. That's about it.

I'm feeling your pain! I live in Houston, so I frequently get early Autumns where it is in the 90's! Heck, it isn't unprecedented for folks to be in shorts around Thanksgiving!!!!

Many a Halloween I've suffered in my mask & costume, dripping sweat in the Texas heat. Ugh! Summer should take the heat WITH it!

It's weird because it's usually way hotter during this time of year over here in SoCal. This summer ended up being really foggy and sort of humid, so we all dreaded the autumn to come which we thought would be sweltering hot (like it always is) but it has been actually really chilly. At least there probably won't be any wild fires.

94 here in Ohio today. An immediate cold front coming right behind it for the weekend, though. Back into the low 70s.

I hate the heat, too, but if it's 60-65 degrees Halloween night I'm happy. Didn't your last Halloween get ruined by rain and cold?

I actually love cold Halloweens.

Yeah, it rained...really hard...and steady.

Here's a question: What's worse: a hot, humid Halloween or one that is so chilly, and often times snowy, that costumes need to fit over complete winter suits? I live in the Rocky Mountain region and many a Halloween costumes have been ruined by having to "bulk up" to stay warm. The cold also does not make for a good candy haul as most kids and parents are too cold to venture out far and people handing out the candy close up early or don't even open the door. Sigh.

Great question.

One year it was humid and hot...and mosquitoes were actually floating about landing on me all night long.

Misery.

I'm guessing heat would be the lesser of the two evils. At least a person can endure prolonged heat. Frigid cold and wind is awful for a haunt, the haunter, and the trick-or-treater.

Yuck, mosquitoes would very well ruin my Halloween too. Not to mention sweating through a costume.

As for living in the Rockies, sometimes we have absolutely perfect haunt weather, and then there are those times when everything gets snowed on and ruined. It's always a toss-up. As for the current weather, well we've been comfortable in the 60's, and no doubt all of you still living with the 90's would love to be here. However the 60's will not last another 5 weeks til Halloween, so wish me luck this year that the temps don't dip too much!

Also, the leaves are starting to fall, but won't be so fresh-looking or crunchy for Halloween. They will all be in the street curbs, brown and nasty.

Another random fact: I used to live in Utah and they (the Mormon-run state politics) would change Halloween to whenever it would placate their religious needs the most. Not only Halloween, but 4th of July as well. If it falls on a Sunday, as Halloween does this year, they will make it either Saturday or Monday. NO trick or treating on Sunday. Period. It was horrible, to say the least. Glad I don't live there anymore.

Hilarious! I actually didn't mind the heat here this summer(probably because it didn't go over 100 much). Boise seems to have had the perfect year for weather- a long cool wet spring, mild summer, and now the evening temps are perfect for a hoodie but no too cold to turn the heater on in the shop.

No rain.... and no 95% humidity... that's all I ask for each year. Humidity is not paper maches friend.
