Worked on a prop for a client who asked for something inspired by the film SILENT HILL. I was anxious to take a prop in that direction - my first foray into gore. I'm really happy with the result, and pleasantly surprised that paper mache lends itself rather well to bloody innards when painted with reds and glazed over with a satin finish.
He's designed to be jammed onto a hidden post to look like he's standing. His arms are made to sway in the wind, realistically - without twisting around or getting tangled.

Wow, amazing, as always.
Cheers!
just amazing! and i like how you didnt over do it with the blood and gore. most people would slap it on and it would look cheesey. great work!
niiiice work!
Kinda has a bit of Giger in it too.
I love it.
Nice. A bit Gigeresque. Very very cool.
Wow, wow, wow,......and ya wow. The Rotten Hill logo is great too!
Holy Dr. Satan! I agree with jay's shadow this could have very easily gone wrong, but you killed it as usual.
Thanks!
I'd absolutely agree that it has some Giger in it. I always loved his fusion of strange tubing and pipes with organic figures.
The contrast of wet vs dry really looks cool in person. The photos bleach out a lot of detail.
OH MY GAWD!!
My favorite detail is the (what looks like) boot laces. Don't know why but I just love that.
Faux barbed wire. : )
Freakin' amazing! Great work!
THANKS!
WOW! Another masterpiece. I think that you are doing gore proud. Im a big fan, keep it up. One question, what kind of skull do you use for your sculptures? Or, are they hand made from papier mache as well? Thanks, Rot, Keep posting.
Also, whats cooking for next Halloween? Any teasers or thoughts yet?
Thanks, man.
The skull is from a mache mold of a plastic skull. After it's peeled off, I have to build it up again so it looks like a skull, but it's a good starting point.
Next year's going to be the year of the Corn Witch. And it's going to be darker than my previous haunts.
Does Rotten Hill have a website? I'd love to see your prop in it's setting. Also, Why aren't you a vendor at the National Haunters Convention? Hell, I Think you should be a professor at Halloween University. Give us some paper mache technique and painting lessons.
Nah. No page. I was thinking of taking him out to an industrial park or some place for a photo shoot. Those few photos are in an old room under the front porch...an old coal/wood storage room.
Thanks for the compliments.
I appreciate it.
