The Forensics Of Sacrifice

Crimes typically associated with ritual violence include: trespassing, vandalism, church desecration, theft, graffiti, arson, extortion, suicide, kidnapping, ritual abuse, animal sacrifice, and ritual murder. Trespassing related to ritualistic crime usually involves persons entering private areas such as woods, barns, and abandoned buildings for the purpose of having an isolated place to worship. Since most occult theologies are nature based, rituals are frequently held outdoors and altars are often constructed of natural elements. Vandalism most often associated with occult crime includes cemetery and church desecration. The most common types of cemetery desecration attributed to occult groups are digging up graves, grave robbing, and tampering with human corpses or skeletons. This is frequently motivated by religious beliefs that require human bones to fulfill specific rituals.

Looking very forward to Mr. Horner's score for The Magnificent Seven film.  He wrote themes based on the script, prior to his untimely and completely unfair death.

Photo set by Brynn Thorssen.

The Nun

As I watched The Conjuring 2 trailer dealing with a really neat "real" haunting event called the Enfield Poltergeist, I was horrified to see a weird nun ghost that reminded me of the vampire from Salem's Lot.  The vampire from Salem's Lot... in drag.

It seems there's a Nun spinoff in the works already.

I really am missing the gene that allows me to enjoy James Wan films.
They feel more like something that should be a Haunted Attraction Fun Ride and not a movie.

I was going to call this post "Nunsense," but it seemed tacky.

Fireworks

Anyone else remember flipping through Fireworks Catalogs as a kid?  I feel like it'd always be one of the bad kids in school who brought in one of those things.  Shiny paper with pages and pages of colorful piles of explosives.  We'd huddle and slowly flip through.  The photos were enticing.  As you worked your way through the catalog, the piles of fireworks in each photo would grow larger and larger.  As would the prices.

Totally illegal in this state, so it made the entire experience pretty exciting.

It seems small knives and Chinese stars were always catalog favorites too.

The only photo I could find that captured the scope of what it was like.
