Really excited about these two releases from buysoundtrax.com.
One of the most brilliant aspects of John Carpenter's The Thing was the electronic score he and Alan Howarth composed for it (used alongside Ennio Morricone's score). The original soundtrack release contained only Morricone's work.
Alan Howarth's Halloween IV is a must-have, and it's been remastered and includes cues previously unreleased.

Awesome, thanks for posting this!
Ah, definitely need to pick these up! I was aware that the remastered H4 soundtrack was in the works, but not The Thing. I have the old Ennio Morricone soundtrack (which is still damned cool), but I'd love to have the full thing! Always bugged me that the complete soundtrack never got a proper release.
I've been quite happy that the Carpenter/Holwarth soundtracks have finally gotten the proper love they deserve. I was incredibly pleased with the remasters of HII and HIII (especially the latter, since we finally got the full soundtrack). These are some wonderful compositions that are truly evocative of their respective films.
Awesome. Ordered.
