Scarecrow Obsession

Straw for Hair; Evil for Brains. My love for scarecrows led to a little collection of artwork I found on various sites over the years (none of which I credit here because I never saved the site links, so I apologize in advance). Think of it as a google search for "Scarecrow Art":

Necrobones

Walking up those steps as a child to knock on that door would have been something I savored all night long on Halloween. I'd save this house for last. And I'd take one step at a time.

So many great photos on this haunter's site:

Store Find

Never ordered from HauntedXing, but I fell in love with this scarecrow prop when I saw it.

Terror

Professional propwork from true masters of the Haunt.
Terror Syndicate

So many great products for sale on their site as well.

Madame Talbot's Victorian Lowbrow

You'll lose hours of your life looking at this site:

Field of Scarecrows: Part I

Figure I'll start a recurring post that'll host cool scarecrows that I find on the internet.

More great photos can be found here.

Sideshow Monkey - The Art of David Hartman

A favorite artist of mine who has created some amazing Halloween images.

I love his take on Fulci's ZOMBIE:

Haunted Eve

I often find myself pouring over the beautiful photographs at Haunted Eve.

And like my yard haunt, theirs is a one-night event. Neat picturing all of these decorations going up on Halloween morning.

I'm a sucker for a great Halloween photo.

A Season of Shadows

This site has it all - terrific images (and tutorials) of Halloween props, discussions on the supernatural, the paranormal, and the metaphysical, professional podcasts, and even a little Halloween "chaos."

Halloween 2008 Officially Starts...

...with the carving of a foam pumpkin.

The Haunting of Ivy Hall

A hobby of mine is searching the internet for photos of scarecrows. A while back I found Ivy Hall - and it was haunted.

A brilliant display, loaded with class and style, and some wonderful scarecrows.

Motel De Moka

Here's a music blog that I dig. They arranged two delightful mixes for the last two Halloweens.

Here's the link to the latest blog entry:

Supersized

If I ever came face to face with a twenty-foot scarecrow, I think I'd climb up into it and stay there for a week. Eric at HauntedOverload.com has created the most impressive and massive, and I DO mean massive, Halloween display. A pilgrimage to his haunt is something I'm planning. I hope there's room in one of his scarecrows for me.

Shag

Thanks, Crudedoodle.

To Smile Fire

My pumpkin lanterns look so bright because each one is packed with three or four tea lights and a votive. I use candles from DarkCandles.com. Candle scents of Clove, Coffin, Falling Leaves, and Haunted House create a pretty neat atmosphere. I also burn incense sticks jammed in the ground behind the bushes (well worth the risk of a Towering Inferno Halloween Incident).

Spooky

A love of zombies and scarecrows makes this man a friend by default - plus he's a super nice guy. I've often said that his pumpkin-headed scarecrow is a vast improvement over my Pumpkinrot crow. And his tutorials (and photos) are fantastic.

Behold the incredible Spookyblue.com.

Mister Reusch

Found this guy's artwork a couple years ago. I own a few prints of his amazing paintings. Pure Halloween in every piece.

Vile

What do you call a guy that creates a skeletal torso out of extruded foam? - a Master Sculptor, that's what.

Check out Vilethings.com:

Been a fan of this guy's work forever (even after he sent me a box of genuine Spanish moss - filled with live beetles).

Halloweenville

So many great images on this fantastic blog.

Brave Kid

A good number of children choose to pass on collecting candy from me on Halloween night. Some are rather fearless.
