"I dreamed that it was all going to be over, and a voice said it was; not any kind of voice I can remember, but a voice anyway, and it said things would stop here on Earth. I didn’t think too much about it the next day, but then I went to the office and caught Stan Willis looking out the window in the middle of the afternoon, and I said a penny for your thoughts, Stan, and he said, I had a dream last night, and before he even told me the dream I knew what it was. I could have told him, but he told me and I listened to him."

Sugar Bob's
I'm a guy who loves smoked foods (and drinks). We're talking REALLY smoked. Like campfire embers in your mouth. Had some really nice smoked beer recently. I even occasionally smoke my cats so their fur leaves a smoky residue on my hands and face (made that part up).
My brother gave me a bottle of Sugar Bob's Smoked Maple Syrup for Christmas and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes extreme smoke in their food (specifically in their waffles or pancakes [or mixed drinks]). It's like someone poured a dark maple syrup down my chimney and sat at the bottom running it through a filter (it's REALLY smoky).

NORAD Santa Tracking
I suspect Santa must have a time-altering/temporal distortion device, but it's nice to see that NORAD is on top of the situation...
Post-Ghost Scrooge
Man, I love the final act of this telling of A Christmas Carol. I wish George C. Scott were my uncle.

Magi
In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage."
Now Playing: Yule
Some Christmas Ambient music by Tor Lundvall (there are some vocals on here, but they totally work)...

The Old House On The Hill
I've tried to write this post a few times since November, when I found out some terrible news.
Our community lost a talented and incredibly genuine and kind person. On September 25th, PrimWitch from The Old House on the Hill (Candy was her real name) passed away suddenly of an unexpected illness.
I've featured her work a lot on the blog as it really spoke to me. Primitive Folk Art is a mysterious art form. It's crude and dark and organic. It feels temporary and delicate, like it could crumble in your hands or blow over in the wind. It speaks so loudly when bending Autumn or Winter in its twisty vines and dried husks and wrinkled fruits. And Candy had it mastered. A true artist. One of the Greats of Primitive Folk Art. A Giant.
Here's to the Prim Witch, of the Old House on the Hill.
May she be at peace, where it's forever Autumn.
