Transworld's East Coast Haunters Convention 2025 Walkthrough

If you were curious what this event was like, here's a nice, non-sensational walkthrough.  Some really neat props.

Now maybe this stuff exists already, but I always thought a company would make a ton of cash selling small motors for people (me) who aren't good at assembling that sort of thing.  Small, quiet (strong) motors that slowly rotate to aid a stirring witch, or maybe one that looks side to side in a somewhat slow, somewhat fast, unpredictable manner, to have a prop's head look in various directions.  As a static prop guy, I would absolutely build a witch with a head that darts left, and then right.

That's the perfect way for me to enjoy something like this...all of the stuff to see, and none of the crowd. (mute is my friend)

With respect to prop animation, I will say that while I do significantly less of it these days, motor availability, simplicity, and reliability, has come a LONG way.

It's no longer necessary to pull a windshield wiper motor from the local junkyard and slog through a DIY effort cobbled together from Radio Shack.

Places like FrightProps have made things pretty straightforward, and accessories like speed controllers and power supplies of every type are readily available at Amazon and others. (with all manner of helpful reviews, pictures, etc.)

I will say that I can't imagine the surprise on the visitor's faces (or mine!) seeing one of your props move!

Thanks! I never even thought of Amazon!

+1 FrightProps. Great catalog art. Remember the old xmas reindeer that would bow/turn their heads? Deer motor $20, outdoor, comes wired just plug in. They also sell a nice axworthy ghost kit if you want a big PITA project. Never more than 2 wheels - trust me

Spider Hill Prop Works also makes cool stuff. Poseable pvc joints and motor mech prop kits

Thanks for the video, Rot! It seems that there has been an alarming increase in the number of Halloween props that I know nothing about!
Also, check out Monster Guts for motors, wiring harnesses, controllers, and power supplies. I've been buying from them for years with no problems.
