The Shape

Sported my new Myers mask (Cemetery Gate Production's WARLOCK) this Halloween and I'd have to say that I've never felt more like him.  People seemed extra unnerved.  One child was shouting up from the sidewalk asking Michael Audrey Myers if he was going to kill him.  I did the Myers head tilt and his family laughed and screamed.  They eventually came up, and I could tell they were really creeped out and uncomfortable.  So after handing them candy, and as they were leaving, I stepped out onto the porch (something I rarely do).  They definitely weren't expecting that and the mom shrieked.  This caused the child, and his family, to run towards the sidewalk.  In what seemed like a moment from a Scooby-Doo cartoon, one of the handles on his trick-or-treat bag caught onto the foot of the staked corpse at the entry to the porch.  He didn't know what snagged him, but I could tell he thought it was me, as he wasn't looking back.  He screamed and left the bag dangling from the corpse's foot.  Michael Myers silently removed the bag, straightened the corpse, and looked up.  The boy was coming back.  I handed him his bag and he whispered "Thank you, Michael" and ran off.

It was one of those incredible Halloween moments that make this holiday so absolutely wonderful.

What a night.

You make a very convincing Michael! Glad it was a good night.

I appreciate that! There's still a level of feeling silly when the costume first goes on, but then you see the expressions on the kids and you realize they get more out of Myers being at that door than they do with spooky props being all around them. I love it. A bunch of kids were shouting "you're a fan favorite, Michael! A fan favorite!" haha...

Don't feel silly. You have his look down, body type and all, which sometimes people don't have and can throw off the vibe.

Such a sincere and wonderful story, I couldn't help but smile as I read it. You made a lifelong Halloween memory for both yourself and that kid's family. Thanks for sharing

I bet he comes back next year

I'm sensing Frankenstein's monster vibes here. You don't need to make a sound or move very fast in order to scare people.

Thanks! I’ve always loved how Myers looked in Halloween II…

I saw a meme where someone put a blonde with one Michael and said he looked like Mariah Carey and now I can't unsee it. Michael will never scare me again. What a great story. I love the "thank you Michael".

ALL your stuff is once again amazing. Cool to see the Shape pics which feels like a slight departure. And hey a street shot for kicks. Now I have a better idea of the scope. I had to set up shop in a new house for the first time in 25 years this year. Took it easy on the neighbors for year one - but after a while they seemed to enjoy it. - Jeano formerly Spooky Franklin now somewhere in Columbia, TN..

Haha I never saw that!! And I don’t think I want to!

It’s funny because I’ve always dressed as Michael Myers, but I just never had any photos of it.

Such an awesome story: definitely hope that kid comes back next year! I agree, you do make an excellent Michael. Dick Warlock was probably the best Myers, imo. Was the CGP Warlock expensive? They're becoming harder to find these days, though there are some decent "re-do's" from other companies

It was over 300... I had to convince myself it was an investment. haha... and I agree about Warlock. Halloween II was my favorite version of Myers.
