Green Goon

Added a green light for the Goon tonight.
Felt he needed a little sassing up, beings there are only two houses with Halloween decorations on our entire block (and we're one of them).

We set up the scarecrow today.
It was great to see some plastic jackos in windows and a few lawns with fake tombstones already.

Believe it or not, I feel like October 2nd is still too early to put out The Goon (as it was dubbed by a small child in the neighborhood last year).

I'm thinking this coming weekend...

I'll leave him up until Halloween, and then he'll be replaced with something new for the big night.

Finally stuck a light in this guy. 
Every day around sunset, a family from around the corner brings their two small children to look at the scarecrow.  They were walking away two nights ago as I was going out to turn his light on (for the first time).  They came running back saying "Look! The Goon lights up!"  They told me they've been calling him The Goon.

I kinda love that.

And I think he's now The Goon.

Rustic And Traditional

Built this guy to display in October on the corner of our property.
There's a school bus stop right across the street, so it'll be cool for the kids to see this leading up to the High Holiday.



And he'll have a light in his familiar head.
