William Friedkin's The Devil And Father Amorth
The documentary looks at how the exorcism in the movie compares to a real exorcism. The film’s title comes from the filmmaker’s ability to attend Father Gabiele Amorth’s ninth exorcism — it took place with an Italian woman who had been experiencing behavioral changes and “fits” that could not be explained by psychiatry; they became worse during Christian holidays.
Known as the “Dean of exorcists,” Father Amorth performed thousands of these rituals to rid evil from the human body. On the Italian woman, Father Amorth and the demon inside the woman began conversing in Latin, a language that the woman did not know.

Random Blog Note
For anyone looking at older entries and realizing that the photos won't open in the usual lightbox manner, I am aware of the problem (and annoyed by it [as there is no apparent fix other than reloading all the images individually into each old blog post]).
So if you find yourself in old blog posts, you have to right click on each photo in the post and select Open in New Tab....
Very lame.

More here.
And the IT poster here.
BBC: Victorian-Era War Of The Worlds TV Series
I'd be interested in seeing this, as the non-modern setting would be way more interesting.

The Lake
Really dug RESOLUTION and SPRING by these guys, so I'm very curious about this film.
THE ENDLESS is the story of two brothers who return to the death cult from which they fled a decade ago, to find that there might be some truth to the group’s otherworldly beliefs.

Split
Rented M. Night's latest film SPLIT over the weekend and went nuts over it. My personal favorite film of his is UNBREAKABLE, and this now matches it. If you haven't seen the film yet, PLEASE stay away from any talk of it...and any talk of the recent news on the sequel being planned. It might ruin some of the cool stuff in this film. So try to see it ASAP.
