Orange And Black

Found these at Michaels.  Cool that the black bulbs aren't those purplish black-lights, but just black glass.

That House

That Doll

Karen Black

Strange to have just read about Karen Black's passing.  She seemed to be in so many films I watched when I was young.  And she always seemed so solid and centered in her roles - and so normal.  The perfect actress to be in the unstable setting of a horror film.  She made it seem real.

And I'm not sure if it's appropriate to mention in a blog post like this, but she was my first boyhood crush.  Though I'm thinking she'd get a kick out of that.  I hope she would.

Rest in peace, Ms. Black.

Fright Night: Behind The Scenes

Nothing but worship for BOTH Fright Night films.  Tommy Lee Wallace's sequel to the classic is one of the most underrated horror films of its day.

Shoes

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Pumpkin Head

He was called Pumpkin Head because his head was too big for his body. It had grown too fast for the rest of him, and was soft and large. He only had a little patch of hair, on the top of his head, and the skin on all of his head was soft and fat. You could almost pull it out into folds. His eyes, nose, and mouth were practically lost in all the fat on his face.

Yankee Candle Halloween "Party"

Looks like tomorrow is the day Yankee Candle stores throw their annual Halloween party to promote their seasonal items.  If you recall last year, the store I picked threw a party similar to visiting a stodgy old lady's house and getting served sliced cinnamon apple - from a can.

If you go, hope your store has a better idea of Halloween than the one we visited.

Aunt Kate

Invisible Boy

She took the great iron spoon and the mummified frog and gave it a bash and made dust of it, and talked to the dust while she ground it in her stony fists quickly.
