I decided to enter our Swamp Foetus movie into the CineMayhem film festival contest.  The winner gets shown at the two-day festival in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Online voting starts on February 21st, so I'll put up a reminder then.  Only four entries so far.

I am so excited to hear that! Mr. Shy Boy enters something into a CONTEST with other PEOPLE! W00T!

And yes, I am teasing you. :)

Very cool. It is nice to see you enter a different contest.

Not to cut up any of the other entries, but you should have this one in the bag. Monster in the closet was pretty cool, but the other two were pretty lame. Yours is so much more original and all homemade, then adding John Glasset's score tops it off.

Good Luck!

shellhawk,
it took everything in me to make a facebook account for this contest.

And after it's over, I'll happily delete it : )

sincerely,
Mr. Shy Boy

Yeah, You got this in the bag...Hands down. Yours has so much more. Good luck!

And don't worry- deleting your facebook account is easy and liberating. Nobody has kicked down my door yet and dragged me o

Cool!
I'd be awesome to have Swamp Foetus up on the big screen.

Btw, I totally get where you're coming from with the whole Facebook thing. I deleted my account several years ago and never looked back.

"swamp foetus" is a "rembrandt" among "dr. office art"...

Good Luck to you & bean!!!..

p.s...when i read marrow's comment
about deleting his acct yrs ago...
a vision of a fetus cancelling their acct using morse code via
umbilical cord popped into my
head... : D

I think infants have FB accounts actually.

Good luck to you and bean, I shall cast a vote.

I'm not a FB fiend by any stretch but I do use it. Has helped me locate and re connect with quite a few army buddies which I'm very proud of.

Jab back and forth with Rania from time to time over football, etc. Great, great girl, awesome talent.

Again, best luck, all due respect to the others, Foetus deserves to win handily, which I trust that it will....and the legend grows.

I definitely see a value in FB.
I'm just coming from a very VERY antisocial place when I make those comments : )

Good idea Girl6, I'll use my wife's and kids' account to vote. 3 votes there. or is that cheating? Dang guilty conscience! I'll just have to bribe-uh convince them. No worries, they know it supports a great Halloween artist who inspires me daily.

Maybe 'several' wasn't the right word to use...

I deleted my account three years ago, age 12.

And yes, infants use Facebook. It's some scary stuff. But until Facebook removes the compulsory Date Of Birth feature, fetuses shall remain absent.

Very cool Rot !
Do you have to have a facebook account in order to vote? I stay away from there myself..seen to many of my peers become so absorbed in it that they live inside their computer. If you do need one, no problem. I can get on my daughters and vote for you.

Go Rot Go!! I think you have this one on lock :)

I think that a person has to have a FB account to vote, but I'm not entirely sure.
I'll post an update on the 21st with details.

They posted a few more movies.

Woo! Good Luck Rot!!! :D I will go and vote.

Yes I have a FB account and hell hath frozen over, we just got iPhones. :D Be careful with your prepaid phone company, Rot. The company I use just royally screwed us over and we lost our number and $50.00.

I don't understand how to vote for you. It says whichever film gets the most likes through their Facebook app wins and I am there, but see NO like option for it. I would vote for that movie 100 times over.

Voting starts on the 21st.
I'll do a blog entry with a link.

Thanks : )

i love Love LOVE the b&w STILL of this...
there's something so Sweet & Magical about this back view...

it's very.........like the feeling i get when i watch the Original Nosferatu & i see him viewed from the back as he is walking away...

Otherworldly, i guess...<3333

is this bean?...

Rot said...

aw thanks : )

Nope..not bean.
all photos of the witch are either the puppet tied to a weighted lamp post, or tied to a stake in the ground (outside shots).
I think that was the hardest part of the shoot - setting up the witch after the video was filmed. The ones where she's holding the pumpkin in the cemetery were the trickiest. The hands kept drooping from the weight of the foam pumpkin. I built the hands separately to be attached later.
