The Haunted History Of Halloween

Another great post over at K.O.'s seasonal The Skeleton Key blog.
I've lived in fear of someone asking me about the origins of Halloween and me not knowing and that person saying "YOU LOVE THE HOLIDAY, YET KNOW NOTHING OF IT!?!?!"  (I'm neurotic).
So I've always been sure to have a nice outline in my head to fire off to the challenger (important to note I've never been challenged).

Click below to get educated (or to get some refreshed facts) for that annoying person who will never ask you to prove your love for Halloween in the form of knowledge (you too can be neurotic)...

And depending on my mood, they might just get a small one-man play by me of Halloween III's Conal Cochran...

This is a really great post on her blog. Truly love it.

And doing the Conal Cochran blank stare and low, calm voice version on Halloween would be excellent. The questioner would probably never ask again.

Soooooooo Mr. Rot, what does Halloween mean to you? :D
Sorry, I had to be the one. :)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.!!!!..<333333333
on so many different levels.
Great read. Awesome Post!!!!. made me proud to be a catholic pagan celtic latin witch & Halloween Lover..hahahahhaa. Yup.

& omg...the whole concept of Halloween III is just so brilliant. i often wonder, how things woulda gone if their whole NEW villain idea introduced in each Halloween film woulda taken off favorably, starting with the 3rd installment. we'll never know.

i think a lot of people might not ask, cause it's really not their thing & the WHOLE historical end might make their eyes roll up into their heads with the OVERLoad. they're too busy buying their sequined devil tails & horns at their local CVS. oh & a glittered wreath too!!! HAHAHAHHAHA...AND...i am honestly SO fine with that, to each their own....just don't make fun of The Halloween Lovers, it's not just for kids!!!

hey & that art on the click in totally reminded me of your Beggin for Candy universe. i hope those kids are doing ok. we all miss em & await their return. i think one day...your haunt will be am old school vision with like a Universal Monsters (Frankenstein) graveyard kinda spin. or maybe, you'll breathe the Beggins Kids to life, house on the hill & all.

i CAN'T wait to see your unveiling this year!!!

The inside joke around our house is that we fall asleep as soon as the history gets to the celtics. Snooze fest!!! Ugh can't stand Halloween history! Lol. KO did do a wonderful job breaking it down for people with no patience for it. Loved her approach. All points bulletin!:D

Great post, K.O. And Rot. If I had a time machine I would definitely travel back to early Halloweens.
But then I'd be caught and burned as a witch probally.
